Jule Amps Monique part 5

Looking forward to trying out the new muscle in my setup. The IPR2-3K will find second life in the rack that holds my Kern IP-777, and/or possibly for PA use if needed. My old IPR-3K had a strange failure where it gets fan-motor noise leaked to it's out but only with an unbalanced input. It's also been put on PA duty.

Very possible that it is a bad fan in your IPR-3K.

Yeah, it's possible. Peavey didn't think so. Their engineering people are really cool...Bobby said "this is something I've never seen before" and offered to take it to their bench rather than the warranty/repair people...but in the end I decided since it worked fine with balanced signal to move it to PA duty instead and get the upgraded model.

Fans can be challenging in audio equipment. They are after all, rotating electromagnets with switches.

In the voice of the old long haired guy chained to the prison cell wall in The Life of Brian, "Oh you lucky! I'll bet you even have engineering people!"

Some of you may not know Matthew Denis yet. . . It is time.
Today, when there is bass being played, being recorded, being enjoyed on the West Coast, there is a good chance it is Matthew Denis. This is one very hard working, very talented, professional bass player.

Fun track...and it sounds nice. : ) Good combo...I love Dingwall/Monique although we're sort of in different genres. I have an NG on order currently for my road bass, and I've been using my Monique in the studio and live since 2012.

Thanks for the kind words brother, I consider you one of the elder statesmen of both the Dingwall and Monique clubs.

I blew off @Jay Terrien about trying a Monique for year or so as I'd been an Aguilar artist for awhile and thought I already had the "be all, end all" of amplifiers in an NOS tubed DB750...I was wrong ;)

Sheldon and Jule have different applications of the same philosophy about design, build quality, uncompromising tone and of course interpersonal communication and service. These are all good things in themselves but the end result is instruments that are useful in a wide variety of settings. :)

I'd throw Jim Bergantino in the mix, but that'd just be preaching to the choir in an echo chamber. ;)

Not to discount all the other great artisans out there, but we are truly blessed to have such da Vincis in this Renaissance of bass equipment.

I freely admit that my bass playing life is an exercise in standing on the shoulders of giants. I've been lucky to play the instruments that inspire me.

Monique settings?

Line Level Pulled out, High and Mid around noon, Low around 1 o'clock, Sensitivity in and around 9 or ten o'clock :thumbsup:

Similar settings to when I tracked this with the same bass:

Nice tone! Funny though your eq setting is the same as mine but my line and sensitivity are pushed in with sensitively at about 11-12....for now.
