I thought about asking about a white unit. happy with the way this looks. Simple, modern and tasteful. It really just looks clean and mean. It's the rack amp equivalent of a muscle car.

Simone is back in development again this week. I expect to have new boards made up next week.

Learned very important things over these several weeks that will be implemented now. I do appreciate the interest. Coffee and your energy keep me going. A blessing and a curse (depending on how you look at it) of being a small company is that priorities change quickly. Gotta get those orders out when they come in - I am very grateful to say.

Pulling the line out sends a pretty sizable gain boost to one of the tubes; the resulting increase in tube compression, fatness, and harmonics is really quite remarkable.

@juledude is a true electronics wizard...cant wait to meet Simone

It adds +10db to the level. That comes from adding one more complete tube stage to the chain.

No problem.

Pulling the sensitivity knob has a similar effect, just not quite as dramatic. It sends a different tube about half as much of a gain boost.

You can even pull both if you want to get really crazy

Yup. Sensitivity adds +4db, and changes the front end "sensitivity."

Line pulled out is my preferred setting for most things...pretty sure I've mentioned it to you before, but I call it "God Mode"

I had a two night run in a small theatre here in Edinburgh over the weekend (actually part of a 4 in a row weekend between my two main gigs)....and I was showing the line out features to the guitarist. There was some tone envy going on for sure. Another week of gigs and another flawless performance from Monique. The sensitivity pulled out works better for my current needs but we were messing with some Metallica riffs and I had everything going on and it sounded huge.

I love playing through my rig. It’s just such a great tone!

Now that I'm racked up and ready for the next round of gigs after a few weeks off and have my Monique/M2500 ready to go...I thought I'd ask a few questions about ancillary stuff.

In the past I've traveled with my IPR3000K which give-or-take is sort of in the same ballpark power wise. I tend to run with redundancy, and go for the beefiest cables/cords I can. I think that the power cable that Jule included is 14AWG, but I'm sourcing an additional 9' cable that's 12AWG & additional powercon. Besides being a bit bulky, any negatives to this plan? I ran straight up 14AWG for all my preamps, power amps and powered speakers in the past. I can't imagine it being a negative.

I also have been using the same 'standard issue' power-strip for years. IIRC only a 15 amp strip. I go to wall whenever possible, but there have been plenty of gigs where it was a necessity. I've even run 2 IPR3K's off of it along with a few other items without problem. Never triggered it's breaker/protect. I'm thinking I'll start by carrying that, and if that triggers switch out? Of course 20a strips are available, but the outlet type generally isn't in venues.

Probably depends upon when your DC was built and/or if it was updated. This was not a feature on the earliest of Moniques but added on a year or two into production.

Other than the bulk, a larger diameter power cable is all good. (You are right about the 14Gauge cable sent with the M2500.) Those little electrons want to run freely, as fast as possible, without banging into each other (EE Students ignore this sentence) or without being restricted.

The 15 amp strip will work. When you get to a place where you want to "Release the Kraken" and continuously play at full volume you may need to go to the wall but I doubt it. As I mentioned a bit earlier, the Hypex power supply running the 2500 has a very large capacitive reservoir. It is designed to run three Hypex 2500 watt amps simultaneously and that is where we begin to be concerned about the available house current. This over-engineering helps us a lot in the real world.

Everything we build and test is continuously monitored in the shop for current draw, and under normal conditions a single M2500 draws less than 5 amps. On paper, we can draw as much as 28 amps at full load from that power supply. I have not seen anything close to that with a single M2500.

And before anybody asks, "No," I will not build up a 3x2500 watt version.
