500 watt bass amp - only. Rugged enough to survive no matter how rough the trip, with the same tone and playing characteristics as the 700 and 2500.So what does it do? I see one knob, two switches. Is it a power amp only or is it a pre amp too? Does it have a DI out on the side?
Will know for sure after NAMM. Let's let some folks play it other than me and my Granddaughter.Price?
Is the new pedal power amp 500 into 4 ohms or 8 ohms? I would mostly be using it into an 8 ohm load and need at least 500. It looks fascinating!
Yes. Power amp only. You can use any Pre Amp, go direct into it, or run out of your looper, or run out of your looper, or run out of your looper.I'm sorry- I missed what this pedal does- power amp?

I’ll consider that, but presently I’m running the Monique through the power section of a Walter Woods stereo, bridged. 700 watts into 8 and 1000 watts into 4. So that’s pretty well matched to my power-hungry, 8-ohm Euphonic Audio cabs (VL-208 x 2 at 400 watts each or VL-110 at 250 watts each). Very happy with this setup, but I will certainly not rule out an M2500. Best straight power amp I’ve ever used. This version is as flexible as the 2500 watt in that it will safely, comfortably, run on 2, 4, or 8 ohms. Power output changes as we expect. Optimized for 4 ohms @ 500 watts. Two ohms gives us 400 watts. Not enough power for you at 8 ohms = 270 watts. This is all done with passive cooling - no fan. .
Even the 700 watt version only gives us 440 watts at 8 ohms. I think you need a 2500. That will give you about 1600 watts at 8. Right?
The dual combo speakons are in parallel.

Sounds good to me.Let me scope this out, because I have a M700 and a Walter Woods Electroacoustic Ultra. Unfortunately, mine is, not a stereo. But I'm wondering if you could take the pre out on Channel 2 of my Ultra and drive the M700 so
it's possible to have two 700 watt power amps running from the Woods pre amp. You're absolutely correct to say, that the EA VL 208/110 is very power hungry. I never owned two VL-208's, but a single VL-208/110 combo had
the Ultra working pretty hard, on a outside gig, late in August, during one of our St. Louis summers. I could see that to drive a pair of VL 208's a M2500 would be just the ticket. I now have powered cabinets a MAS 1/8 and a MAS 4x5.5
not as big as the VL-208's but certianly very nice to play and easier to schlep.
Sounds good to me.
Whenever we see things labeled "Pre Out" or "Effects Return Out" is usually means that level is somewhere close to 0 db output level. That means we should be working well with the output from your Ultra into any of the M Series Amps or even the new little black box on the floor.
Less than 0db, all the way down to -26db is still going to work. That is why it is always best to turn the "Pre Out" level all the way down for the first power up, and roll it up to see how much you need. As I chronologically grow to what is considered adult-hood I become less and less happy with very loud bursts of sound. And it is easier on your cabinets.

“little black box on the floor...” LBBF! That’s it, Jule! Rolls off the tongue nicely and says it all.Sounds good to me.

Wouldn't the two 8-ohm VL 208's present 4 ohm load to the power amp, and so 2500 watts would be sent to the cabs? In a dual channel amp it would be 1600 watts per side, right? But in a single channel power amp how does that work? I'm wondering because it seems to me, that the 2500 should be putting double the power rating of the VL 208's.This version is as flexible as the 2500 watt in that it will safely, comfortably, run on 2, 4, or 8 ohms. Spent most of the day playing the (all tube) Simone II Pedal Preamp. It lives! Ready for NAMM.Looking forward to this Jule! : ) I know you've put a lot of work into it. Let me know when you're ready on the preorders...not that I'm stopping with my regular setup anytime soon either. Courtney and I have a thing that should go out to you & your ladyfrien' sometime in the next week...I may miss Christmas...but might be new years.
We ended up at about ~90 shows this year, with 95% being Monique/M2500, plus some studio time. Thank you for all you do.

Final chassis aesthetics will happen after NAMM, but it will be there in the Kalium Strings booth on the floor to play. I will also have a headphone amp there so we can directly test the DI out without the interfering din that is NAMM. For those of us already familiar with the DI out of Monique there will be no surprises - it uses the same Cinemag Transformer.
All fun.
