That's ridiculous. My rhinos don't have any communicable diseases and have long since stopped selling their skin for cab coverings.

Cool. I feel the same way. Haven't bothered to look at other amps since I got my first Monique over 18 months ago. Truly an amazing amp!

Finally powered up my new Monique/Minnie setup.
It sounds absolutely wonderful!
When I first got the Monique it had almost no signal coming from it. It turned out it had a broken connection inside, probably caused by some rough handling on it's way from California to Norway.
Jule offered to send me a new amp, or to pay a local tech to fix it.
Excellent customers service! But with some e-mail consulting and voltage checking, Jule pointed me to where the problem had to be. (Even more excellent customers service...) When it was found it was an easy fix. 30 second job with a soldering iron.

My previous Monique rack-mount got stolen while I was on tour last fall, so it really feels good to have it back. It was an easy decision to order my new Monique with the bamboo enclosure. It's so beautiful I sometimes forget to play, just sitting there staring at the amp...

I am extremely grateful to you Eirik.

You were great to work with. Every Monique gets a test sheet where I record (after burn-in testing) every electrical value of importance. That sheet stays here for reference. Your excellent testing and that sheet made finding the break straightforward.

But mostly I am grateful for your music.

Tim started recording with Monique too for TTB, about three weeks ago in Florida.

cool. very curious to hear the results. my rationale was that I toted a 70lbs. 400 watt tube amp around for years, and loved everything about it except the weight, and the fact that it had more power than I could ever really use. Live, my master volume never went above 4 without the rest of the band freaking out. Since I love the way Monique affects my sound and you only really need a pair of those KT120s to get about 150 watts, I could maybe get away with some lighter trannies. I told Jule if he could get it between 30-45lbs. I'm all in. Would love to leave it in my bands studio upstate and use it on gigs with them, while keeping my Mo/Minnie rig at my spot for local stuff, touring, and home playing....I've been trying to throw money at Jule for months to make it for me but I know he's super busy to start a whole new project. I just think they'd sell really well given the popularity of the Monique....lot of all tube guys would really dig it I think, especially at that weight....

This year I'm determined to get this 300 watt bass amp working and ready for testing. I'm planning on using the KT 150 instead of the KT 120 because it will get me into the 300 watt range with just two output tubes. Both tubes require greatly the same environments, so I figure I shoot for 300 watts. "Never aim for less because you are bound to get there if you do."

I like the folks at Mercury Magnetics. They have been good to work with. We'll see if they have the courage to make me a set of transformers that will handle 800 volts. We all talk about tubes and amps, but the transformers can make or break the deal.

By example, 400 volts is considered high voltage for a lot of amps. An SVT goes to 600.

On the drive back from NAMM I also picked up a Brenda K. 12 watt guitar amp that has been in pretty much continuous use for eight years. There isn't anything wrong with the Brenda K, but I just want to get in there and make sure all is as I want it to be.

I will include a hunk of warm weather in your Monique when she comes back.

Wow Jule, that's awesome. I was thinking 150 watts just based on weight and volume but if you could make it work with 300 watts I'm more than in!

This does sound very cool and I should be very interested.

I am just unsure if I can drag myself away from the super light and tiny Dovecage/Minnie combo and go back to a big tube amp. I know a Jule won't be going for the SVT sized footprint and weight, but unless I am crazy (or Jule is superman), his 300w tube creation will be fairly large and at least 30-40lbs.

If he figures out a way to make a 300w tube amp in a Monique sized chassis around 20lbs.... I would be screwed financially and at that point would likely own more Jule amps than Jule.
