Jule Amps Monique part 5

Oh, now look what you've done!! I'm going to have to do that instead of work and packing!! LOL!

I forgot about that. I know I've read about those additional controls before, but forgot already. Thanks B Skies.

Just remember, turn the line level down before pulling or pushing. It will pop if it is up. Makes no difference with Sensitivity.

Enjoy!

Depends on the size of your amp, doesn't it. ;)

You only make the mistake once.
Funny. Pulling the line out never worked for me with my Minnie and I believe it didn't work with my M700. I think in both instances I lost a lot of volume.

It only worked when I did it with my crest prolite 2.0.

Not that I need to pull the line out anyway because it sounds great with it pushed in.

Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Don't have a Minnie or an M700, but pulling the line out pot resulted in a big jump in output for me with a Pro Lite 2.0 and an older Lab Gruppen power amp. Not sure what your experience signifies. I can't 'splain it.

I also don't use a Minnie or M700 but my experience is that the pull on the output does boost the output level substantially.

Still using the ProLITE 2.0. Pulling the line level results in a huge difference. However, I don't need it. Plenty of output with it pushed in. One day I must get a line level pot with more (physical) resistance. I still haven't warmed up to the pot. But, I don't want to let go of Monique to get another one installed.

On the job...

Thanks for the replies gents! I think it's a voltage thing. With the line out pushed in I believe it's putting out .775 volts which I guess is what the Minnie and m700 like to play with.

When it's pulled out I believe it's putting out 1.227 volts which traditional PA power amps like to see such as the crest prolite 2.0. And yes when I pull it out with the crest, there is a huge volume boost too.

Before leaving on my trip, I pulled the line out knob and it was way louder. It also "seemed" like the bass just became especially huge. I wasn't even at 9:00 and I thought I was going to break something in the apt.

Great to know that is there!

I was thoroughly impressed with the Monique last night! It was the first time that I was able to use it in my band and in a really good sounding room at the same time. I've played it in a few rooms with bad sound and used in in recording situations in the past.

My rig was: Lull M5V (J bass) > Monique > Crest ProLite 3.0 > Bergantino CN212
I kicked on a Fairfield Barbershop when I wanted a little hair on my tone and a Darkglass VMTD when I wanted more

My tone was fat, authorative, and perfectly slotted in the mix all night. I had a smile on my face all night :)

I have that Darkglass pedal as well. Looking forward to trying it with Monique.

Your description of the tone is precisely what I'm looking for, Dave!

I was also running the sensitivity knob pulled out and wide open...

Tonight I'm going to bring along my Fuzzrocious Demon as well. I love the OCD style distortion on bass.

The VMTD is great but I'm not fully sold in it yet as a distortion pedal, with my standard tone it seems more like the type of pedal you leave on all the time and that's not what I want from it.

I have one of the original Dove Cages from about 3 years ago and it has been sent back to Jule for all the updates. When using with my M700 With a passive bass I have the Line out all the way up and the M700 has to be turned up fairly loud because the Volume kbob Jule uses is a Audio Taper which is used on only a few amp manufactures I can think of>Glockenklang is one of them.So what I have found out when using a Passive bass and Moniquw DC and M700 It works best with Line out pulled out>With active basses Line out in.Also when I use Monique with say my Berg IP 112 and additional cab Monique has plenty of gain with any bass with Line out pushed in.I have talked with Jule and he says this is all normal and to me the Audio Taper volume pot on the M700 takes some getting use to.
