Jule Amps Monique part 5

Ahhh. No, I did not use the B channel. I'm a dumbass! LOL! Actually, I placed the order for the GK before buying the Monique, so I was likely going to return it anyway. Maybe it was better that I didn't try the B channel! Maybe I'll try one again some day.

BTW, I have a Darkglass Vintage Microtubes with the EQ, so hopefully that will play well with Monique.

I hope the Tardis sits on my cabinet OK. It is an MAS112 with a 15" width and 20" depth. Kind of the reverse of typical cabs. From what the previous owner said, the feet should be located inside enough that that should not be a problem. So the box may overhang an inch on either side, but the feet should not. I guess you can always orient it rotated 45 degrees one way or the other, or simply put it on a stool or milk crate, etc. if worse comes to worst.

BTW, I received an GK MB Fusion 800 yesterday, and I've already printed out a return label and I'm shipping it back. Absolutely beautiful box, but not my thing tonally at all. I hope Monique is way warmer and tubier than the GK. I hope Monique sort of leans more to the Tone Hammer 500 tone than the GK tone.

That is probably true. I've been playing through Monique for a couple of years now and nothing has changed. I don't even think about another head at this point. I'm playing more, which is good. The only possible change will be to get Jule to add his power amp module to my Monique at some point. But no hurry.

In reference to your concern about your head hanging over your cabs; my amp rig hangs over my cabs when stacked vertically. My rack hangs over on all sides. I currently use a couple of AudioKinesis 1203 cabs. I have had no issues. I just make sure the rig is setup on a solid surface. I occasionally stack the cabs horizontally too.

Those AudioKinesis cabs really bring out the best of Monique and are a perfect mate as far as I'm concerned. Although Monique sounds killer through a couple of GS112s as well.

I see a lot of cats playing Monique through the Audio Kenesis cabs. I've never had the pleasure of playing through one of those. I am looking forward to hearing it through my MAS112.

I like hearing that people are still happy with their Monique over an extended period of time like you are.

I haven't played Monique through the CN cabs (additionally, I do not have the Jule power amp). My dad has a Berg cab that I have just got to borrow to try out. Honestly, I can't think of any cab (of decent build quality) that wouldn't sound good with Monique. Before I got the AudioKinesis cabs, I played through a pair of GS112 cabs. They sounded great. At certain venues, they sounded wonderful.

Yes, there are several folks on this forum that are using the AudioKinesis cabs with Monique. The thing that convinced me to go with the AudioKinesis cabs paired with Monique was the mid presence of the cabs. Additionally, the 1203 has the two switches in the back that allows you to adjust the amount of highs and mids. The noticeable mids of this cab pairs perfectly with the awesome EQ of Monique. It is deep, rich and has enough mids to have a clear definition about the tone that is perfect in a band setting (especially a band with several instruments). If you need to tone the mids down a bit, in addition to the EQ, I often find the flip of a switch is just what I am looking for.

That's cool. My MAS112 has a midboost switch and a tweeter kill switch. I tend to run with the mids boost off as well as the tweeter. But it's nice if you need more upper mid presence or a bit of more air in the highs to be able to flip those switches. On mine, Mark put the switches on the front of the cab, which is kind of handy.

Congrats BBob!
Here are a couple of action shots- yes a little wide but feet width fit fine.

I did setup once with the amp facing to the side on a very shallow stage, I was standing with my back against the wall so it worked out fine that way too.

This rig is a workhorse!

I agree, Monique pairs very well with MAS cabs (I also gigged the MAS 46 for a couple of months). The MAS 112 definitely benefits from adequate space to open up.

For smaller spaces, I am currently enjoying NV115, ML112 or HT112. All different flavors of good with Monique.

Hathor 1203 is on my short list to try.
