I wonder why Jule did this. The hypex module is fantastic.

Just in case my inquiry was misinterpreted... I have many other amps that have the ice module as well and they sound great too. I was just curious why the change was made. I wasn't aware that there was a supply issue. Thanks. The Facebook post and comments hint at supply issues. I've been using that same new ICE module for a few months now, sounds pretty danged good to me.

Seems natural to wonder about the change; it was enough to get me to look at Facebook, which takes a push. Link Removed
I don't know of any amps that have been released yet with the new module -- it's their first one designed with bass instrument amps specifically in mind. I like the older modules fine too, especially the ASP series as used in the Berg IP powered cabs. But as always, it's often more about how the parts are put together than which specific pieces are used. Jules' track record is very good on that count, no?
Absolutely
Absolutely. His track record has been superb. And yeah I don't do the Facebook, Twitter, schmitter, etc lol! This is the only social media I am involved in.
I was content with the DC / Minnie combination, but now even more so with the DC / M700 hypex combination.
Whatever Jule does, I'm sure it will always be fantastic. I've never been happier with my setup. And I have had absolutely no GAS at all for a new pre or power amp.![]()
So does this mean that the Tardis 700 version is susceptible to problems without a standby switch?
I usually just turn off the power switch when changing basses. Is this bad?
Jule responded similarly to my question on his facebook page. He said that they were "nice to haves" but not necessary. If anything, I imagine the standby switch was to fill the spot in some of the premade face plates that still had a hole on the front for the input. A standby switch made a good filler as it was functional.

I simply turn off the power amp as a defacto standby switch.
Also, the Tardis does not benefit from a rear input as would the standalone amp.

Had a fantastic gig last night at an outdoor local patio gig. Packed patio with a good couple hundred people. 35-40 of the band's friends and family came out as well, which was great.
We played from 8-12 instead of the usual 10-2am gigs we usually play. To be different, we decided to do an acoustic set from 8-9 while people were settling in and having a bite and then get into the full band show at 9pm. This went over very well. Acoustic guitars and congas.
In any case, Monique sounded great as usual for the acoustic and electric sets. I am still in love with my Monique/Minnie/Bergantino setup that hasn't changed at all in at least a couple of years. My Fender P with tapewounds and Fodera Monarch 5 with new SS rounds both just killed.
I find that almost every musician that attends one of our gigs, complements my bass tone. Not my playing, but my tone.
Here is a quick pic during setup....

Good call on the tuner. I haven't been gigging so I forgot about that easy solution. Should be again soon though.Same here. Or kick on my tuner between sets.
Thanks!Good call on the acoustic set! That rig looks sweet.
Traveling lighter can be very rewarding! Thanks!
I usually use 2 Berg AE210 cabs, but I have been going direct from Monique to the board as of late. Much better sound and I can leave one of the cabs at home.
You really don,t need to turn Power amp off you can either turn the Master Volume down or turn the Line Out Knob on Monique all the way off and you will be fine and no popping when switching basses. So does this mean that the Tardis 700 version is susceptible to problems without a standby switch?

Wind Im a little confused? My Berg IP 112 has a Speaker Power SP1-1000 amp in it and My Puma 900 does have a 250ASXx2 Ice Power module in it at least this is what it looks like comparing it compared to what ICE has on there web site.It shows a rating of 630 watts at 8 ohms but none at 4 ohms?Seems natural to wonder about the change; it was enough to get me to look at Facebook, which takes a push.
