Jule Amps Monique Part III

Well Sunday just became Sunday-Funday!!!:hyper:

Looks killer Jule and I cant wait to get her on the road w/ her new best friend Monique!

In case it has not been stated enough Jule is about the best person to deal with and is a flat out cool cat. Thank you sir for all you have done

The Bamboo Monique is the same as the Dove Cage Monique. If you want to fit your own enclosure to an unclad Monique that is fine by me.

For your Bamboo Monique to fit this new Minnie 800-D enclosure, you will have to move the feet on your existing Bamboo enclosure.

Easy to do. The center of the indentations in the top of the Minnie Bamboo enclosure are 1.75" from the outside edges. Each foot on your existing Bamboo Monique is held in place with a wood screw. Remove and reattach in the right spot. Also, the rubber feet are wide enough that the old screw hole will not show.

Hi Jule- Regarding the fan- fan noise is not an issue in a club situation, because the ambient crowd sounds drown out fans. However, can the DeMonique Tardis be safely run without the fan at conversation-level volumes when powering either an 8 or 4 ohm cab? I alternate my cabs when practicing at home based on the voices in my head :p). That is the volume level I typically practice at in my home, and in that case fan noise is not welcome.

Regarding the trs line out- can that be used to drive a power amp other than the enclosed Minnie, and does using the trs line out bypass the Minnie?

Question, though. If the top of the Minnie 800D enclosure is part of the heat sink, does it compromise the thermal dissipation to put it in the bamboo enclosure?

We built in (in addition to the large side vent holes) a gap above the chassis to keep her cool.

I haven't had to run the fan yet in testing. I keep expecting the Minnie to heat up, but it has not done so. I'm not pegging it either. It seems well engineered.

The fan is not so noticeable in the Bamboo enclosure. I am not sire why. I suspect the Bamboo is soaking up the noise.

In the shop, where I only run full volume for relatively short testing cycles I have never had to run the fan. I would l like to see the Minnie heat up so I know how far I can go, but so far I haven't been able to do so.

You should be fine at home without the fan. If someone finds otherwise, I'd like to know.

The 800-D amplifier inside the Rack Mount or Tardis Monique does not take away any of the features of Monique. The Line Out can still be used to power yet another amplifier. The XLR Balanced out is also unaffected.

Once again I'm amazed at how I miss my monique when i don't bring her along. I was in a rush this morning to get to church and just grabbed a combo amp on the way out. The sound was just thin and uninspiring compared to monique.

I think this is a true testament to a piece of gear, not how much you love using it, but how much you miss it when it's not there, and I'm with Todd on this one, every time I think I can get by without her, she reminds me just how much I miss her when she's not there.:crying:

+1....occasionally I have to play with either a backlined rig or I only have room to bring my EA Micro head and the difference is noticed immediately! I even started running my Fodera in passive mode since playing it consistently through Monique and the same cannot be said with other gear. I'm usually turning off the amps EQ and riding the Pope pre....that Baxandall EQ and 6SL7 compliment is really magical.

I share the same feeling of lack to Monique (as a drug-addict who would have no more his dope). I posted Monique on Saturday morning. She had to return at Jule's so that he updates this small beauty ( upgrade my Monique first version ). She left for two days only and I miss her already a lot.
To console me, I say to myself that her dady Jule (the coolest dady on this planet Earth :D) is going to restore with love a second youth to my Monique. When she will return at my home, she will be accompanied with the Minnie 800D.:hyper:

Monique is excellent with her stock complement. The old school Mojo of its handwiring, component choice and component placement makes it responsive to the nuances of vintage tubes. Yes you can hear the difference! Again swap some new tubes in if you're out touring and need consistency and it is the sound we all fell in love with.
