Jule Amps Monique Part III

A Monique rack version, a good poweramp and a 4U rack case can all be bought new for $1500-1700. That is less than a Mesa M9 and many other amps.
I am lucky that my wife and I are both in high tech sales. Very volatile job, but one of us always seems to be doing well when the other isn't. Also, I don't gamble, I don't do coke, I don't go out every weekend, don't drive a a Mercedes, etc.

Thankfully everyone is healthy (knock on wood), but I'm definitely burning the candle at both ends. Playing in six different bands, working on my playing with Ant Wellington, and in a crushing day job at the moment in a senior management position. What is interesting is that I'll be packing up for a gig and be totally exhausted. I drag myself there and magically a couple of minutes after downbeat I'm happy.
My wife is an artist so she gets it and is really supportive. My son is 16 and a teenager so he thinks I'm an idiot. But that is independent of anything I do
I would guess we are all pretty much in the same boat money-wise. After all, we have chosen to do what is important to us, and that doesn't always come easily.
My car is paid off. Rent controlled house. I ride my bicycle to the shop (12 mile round trip) as often as possible. I admit to working seven days a week often, but that is my choice. I love what I do, and my artist wife is incredibly tolerant and not high maintenance. So I get to build stuff.

I just heard from Jule, my Monique is on it's way!!
I'll be using Monique with a Walter Woods Ultra amp - there seems to be different opinions about whether to plug Monique into the effects return or the instrument input.
Please weigh in on this topic - thanks in advance.

I'm in a good white collar job. I picked accounting and hobbies over being a pro musician and/or having kids. I wrote a check for my moderately priced car, I avoided the housing market crash, I timed my investments right, and I focus on my budget.
Of course, after an accident left me paralyzed, I decided I can't take it with me, so I got a bit more relaxed about my spending.

As folks are indicating, the choice of "which" input to use is really up to you.
The issue is the same with every amplifier.
The front end input of all amps must be able to boost very low level signals (-26db) so a lot of energy and circuitry is dedicated to that boost. All that energy and circuitry, no matter how well designed and implemented, will affect the sound. Sometimes very much for the better. Sometimes not.
Effects loops are not burdened with the need to do all that boosting since they are supposed to receive at least 0db. That means they end up (in many cases) a lot more pristine sounding than going in through the input. However, there is no effective standard for input impedances on effect loops, so sometimes you will lose clarity. (This does not apply to your amp. It is a great one.)
Absolutely no wrong in either of these ways of doing it. Truly whichever you prefer.

Crest Pro7200. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with the Crest, been happily using that with the Monique for a while now. The DeMonique just seems to have a slightly fuller sound to it. Not a huge difference, but I noticed it when playing alone. I didn't expect to hear any difference at all honestly...

The Pro7200 has an input sensitivity of 1.58, so it takes some juice to properly drive it. The Minnie and DeMonique are better matched to the preamp's output which is likely why it sounds fuller.

I am using a Crest ProLite 2.0 as well as a Crown XTI2000 and both sound almost identical.
There may be a difference in a studio but at a gig I bet it would be negligible at best.
I was all about the rackmount Monique, but now the allure of the dovecage and Bamboo has me thinking twice! 
Wondering how many people are running the Monique with a QSC power amp?

It works great.
I have been using Monique with my QSC PLX-1804 (which has a rating of 1.2V). Just pull the "Line Level" knob out on Monique, and the QSC is very happy.
