I am a systems engineer by trade and make a decent salary but guys please tell me, how are you acquiring such gear? making deals with the devil, going into debt with credit cards, spending kids college funds, trade of current gear etc. I'm just curious as hell and love to have great tone but darn where's the cash coming from????

Right now it looks like the first prototypes will be black wrinkle finish. Think very old school military gear. I suspect the production units will be power coated black.

I have a good day job, very little debt (one car payment), and do 100+ gigs a year, most of which pay at least something. I don't have any other vices and I've shed my other expensive hobbies except for bicycles.

I understand. I used to gig like that but when the Mrs. became disabled it was really difficult holding down the household, taking care of her, and then running off to do the gigs. It ended up being a full time 7 day a week hustle. And if I played on Sundays before I knew it I was back at work on Monday in a flash. I'm just freelancing now and only working quality type gigs (weddings, ceremonies, fund raisers). Hardly any club dates any more. I'm also doing clinics as well but picking and choosing them too.

Thankfully everyone is healthy (knock on wood), but I'm definitely burning the candle at both ends. Playing in six different bands, working on my playing with Ant Wellington, and in a crushing day job at the moment in a senior management position. What is interesting is that I'll be packing up for a gig and be totally exhausted. I drag myself there and magically a couple of minutes after downbeat I'm happy.

My wife is an artist so she gets it and is really supportive. My son is 16 and a teenager so he thinks I'm an idiot. But that is independent of anything I do :D

Dimensions have been posted but I forget. I think it's about 17" wide. Weight if I recall correctly is around 12 pounds. 9 pounds for the Tardis and an additional 3 pounds for the power section.

It is indeed a CN212. I just received the DeMonique today so I can't say too much about it yet (so far so good though!), but I've been running a Monique (rackmount) + Crest Pro7200 into the CN212 for over a month now. EXTREMELY happy with it. Due to it's smaller footprint, I will be using the DeMonique for gigging from now on, with the rackmount Monique staying exclusively in the studio.

I sold off some old gear to raise some money. I also have a solid day job, and the money I make from gigs becomes my "play money" which I use for family vacations, date nights, the kids, and of course gear!!! :)

My gigs consist mostly of weddings, corporate, and cocktails hours, with some club dates sprinkled in. Not too many clubs anymore to play in that are willing to pay decent bread. I rather play the money gigs nowadays than the clubs. The clubs we play have a lot of young kids and well... It's kinda weird since we're not a young band! Lol!
