Jule Amps Monique Part III

I think if I were to get one, I would spring for the wood version. Thinking about maybe not getting the Mini, at least for now (if I can swing the wood Monique) and run it into my Walter Woods. How much heat does the Monique put out from the underside? Was contemplating sitting it on top of the Walter Woods, so long as the heat isn't too much and the rubber feet (on the Monique) allowed a little air flow for the Woods.

Very little with my dove cage. I wouldn't worry about sitting it on top of any amp.
Walter told me his amps need at least 3/4 to 1 inch clearance on top if this helps.I replaced the rubber feet on my Monique Dove cage with some taller rubber feet I found someplace on the net.Send me a PM and I will PM you the info on where I got them but they are fairly big.1 1/8 tall by 1 1/2 Dia also had to get a little longer screws to use.
I don,t think Walter would be very happy if you had to send one of his amps back burnt up that is why I called him and asked about clearance on top and he said at least a Inch since his amps have no cooling fan it has to disipate the heat on its own thru the vents in the covers.

I wouldn't be too concerned by heat emanated by Monique traveling down into a power amplifier; after all, heat rises. I would, however, be concerned about doing anything that would restrict the flow of heat attempting to leave the chassis of the amplifier sitting beneath Monique.
Bamboo Monique and Minnie finally here.
After one month of gigging, happy to report that it was worth the wait.
The enhanced harmonic content, mild tube compression, effective eq, the palate of tonal options, the dynamic reactivity, the touch/feel, the sensitivity knob... it is all there.
It has all been described in great detail already, I only wish to endorse all of the previous player comments, professional reviews, and offer a personal thank you to Jule (and to James Demeter) for offering this product.
Pic above by Real Ska is very nice, and does Monique justice. If you look on Jule's facebook page, you will see additional pics of Bamboo enclosures, and of course the promotional/ professional pics are great. When I first received the Bamboo Monique/Minnie, the enclosure workmanship becomes very apparent- it is just stunning.
I will say that a couple of weeks ago on the first couple of outings, I had thoughts of exchanging the Bamboo Monique/Minnie for a Tardis DeMonique for practical purposes. When gigging, my goal is to keep life as simple as possible and I started to look at the simplicity of the Tardis- one power cord, speaker cable, instrument input. Yes, the Bamboo setup has a few more steps- and a few more connections to make each time. But the beauty and workmanship did erase the practical thoughts. Not to mention the unexpected high level of interest and admiration from other musicians and non musicians regarding the unique aesthetic for a bass amp. I don't tour, I don't fly, and if I did the other enclosures make a lot of sense.
A couple weeks off for now, but will report back after I have more experience to share.
IME the bottom of the Bamboo Monique is warm only, not hot after 2 1/2 hours of gigging.
IME the Walter Woods Ultra gets warmer (but not hot) when pushing 8ohm load for 3-4 hours at high volume (HT112 or ML112). I think that I would gig the Bamboo Monique on top of the WWU, but I would check it throughout the gig. Airflow appears reasonable, unless it was hot, summer gig outside in the sun.

Im just going by what Walter told me when I called him and asked about putting Monique on top of My Ultra and this is what he told me.After all do you want to take a chance of burning up a 2500 dollar amp??But this is just what he told me.

Love my Walter Woods Ultra. Over 10 years old, never gave me a single problem. Wouldn't want to recommend anything that may cause damage or failure.
I wanted to offer you a visual and I think it helps, but I agree with foderaman and jazzdog: be careful.
I have only run this setup at low volumes at home, not on a gig. WWU not even warm.
I think the large rubber feet recommended by foderaman are an excellent idea if you do end up with a Monique on top of your Walter Woods.
I'm in the same state of mind with the dove cage/minnie setup. Pretty much every gig someone comes up and comments/asks about Monique. I don't mind the two extra cables.
Are you running a second Baer cab pointed towards the drummer?

When I first saw the Dove cage, not yet knowing what it was, I thought; that looks cool. Then I saw the bamboo and thought, that too looks cool. Decisions decisions. If I was a touring type of guy, it would be a no brainer; go rack mount. If I pull the trigger it will be bamboo. Knowing me, If I go and don't go all in (i.e. and get the bamboo Mini), I'd likely wish I had bought the Mini too. Good to see folks using the Woods and Monique.

Funny... I love my Monique and I love Ampeg 810's.... together, I didn't like the tone.
I only tried the combination at a jam spot, but it wasn't very good.
