One thing to consider is how much purchasing power $5000 USD has *in Sweden.* Because of taxes, import tariffs, etc, it may be a lot less than you think. I know that in some places, a MIM Jazz costs about $1500 just because of these add-ons. This would be something to find out before you start shopping!
If you are buying used (where dealer territory agreements and some of these taxes don't apply), and the seller offers international shipping, that's another story.

For $5000, I think I would buy multiple basses instead of just one. No bass, no matter how flexible it is, can cover every possible situation.
