KKK Style Hat

Invalid Link Removed

I take the teacher at his word that this was inadvertant, but it seems to me that he should have been aware of what that hat would look like to the kids parents. I hope he wouldn't send a little Jewish boy home with a swastika, or Muslim child home with a cross.
:rollno:
Stirring up more strife, suspicion, and unhappiness I see, Doc. Here all this time I thought playing bass was your hobby...guess not.
2nd "blacks are victims" thread inside of a week. :scowl:

We tend to see what we look for. I'm sure you can find an example of something displeasing to you DAILY if wanted to...but why would you WANT to? :hmm:

Maybe you can look for a different perspective and stop working to keep racism alive. Maybe your next thread can have a more positive message.

Not even Photoshop'd at all!

He's not under any kind of obligation to post anything other than what interests him. You can argue with him all you want about what he posts and why, but you can't expect anyone to post about things that don't interest them. I may have come down on that side of the argument in the past, but it's a poor, and intellectually dishonest stance to take.

No one can expect him to post anything other tan what he wants.

He can't expect people not to speculate as to his motives for doing so, potentially negatively.

Is this the pic were the saying Once you go black, you never go back originated from? :hiding:

The same people do it over and over again, in many cases appearing to be annoyed by his threads... yet they continue to read them. He certainly can't expect people to avoid things they clearly dislike so they don't have to whine about them.
:D

You appear to be under the delusion that because people like to argue with Cheese, and/or disagree with the potential motivations of his threads, that they don't enjoy reading/commenting on them.

I think you'll find that most of the folks you're talking about aren't annoyed - they enjoy challenging him to for once actually not obfuscate the point he's trying to make and his motivation for doing so.

Bull. And expressing enjoyment in reading the posts of someone by constantly telling them they should stop? Brilliant. And for the record I don't want any of you to stop... it's entertaining.
:D

Since I'm talking about the people who ARE clearly annoyed with his threads (and not the ones who aren't... duh), what delusion are you under?
:hmm:

Let me highlight what you quoted and then for some inexplicable reason apparently chose not to actually read:

"The same people do it over and over again, in many cases appearing to be annoyed by his threads... yet they continue to read them. He certainly can't expect people to avoid things they clearly dislike so they don't have to whine about them".

The people I'm talking about... who are annoyed, are annoyed.

Still deluded?
:D

As to the idea that Dr. Cheese's intentions aren't clear, they could never be clear to people who choose to apply their own baggage to whatever he posts. They think they know what's in his heart.

"The same people do it over and over again, in many cases appearing to be annoyed by his threads... yet they continue to read them. He certainly can't expect people to avoid things they clearly dislike so they don't have to whine about them".

I think you forgot to higlight the operative word:

"The same people do it over and over again, in many cases appearing to be annoyed by his threads"

As to the idea that Dr. Cheese's intentions aren't clear, they could never be clear to people who choose to apply their own baggage to whatever he posts. They think they know what's in his heart.

...and he does everything he generally can to avoid clarification.

Maybe in your mind that's how you twist it. I clearly said in many cases and then you act like I'm speaking about everyone. That's silly. The operative word being "silly".
:D

You just can't admit that this is BS, can you? Of course not. BTDT
:D

"You appear to be under the delusion that because people like to argue with Cheese, and/or disagree with the potential motivations of his threads, that they don't enjoy reading/commenting on them".

I clearly did not even infer or imply that, as you frequently like to say, let alone say it. I said what I said. You are clearly under a delusion.

...and he does everything he generally can to avoid clarification.

Some of you* clearly choose to ignore his statements as to his motivations (which he has made more than once in case you actually missed them) and frankly, the fact that someone can say something as silly as he avoids clarification when in fact you're really saying is he avoids agreeing with you on what you believe his motives to be is priceless.

The operative word is once again silly.

Next.

*highlighted based on past misreadings. Maybe it'll stick out the first time this time around;)

This, right here. Again, Dr. Cheese is trying to stir the pot, it does get old.

Dr. Cheese, racism goes both ways. Some white people still need to change their views, sad fact world wide. On the other side of the coin, as long as African American folks keep trying to find racism in every little thing, it's never going to die. Does that make sense ?

Great to see you're enjoying his thread.
:D

I started to type a long post, but I'll pare it down to this:

We're all viewing these issues from the perspective of our own environment, regional history and experiences. Some feel that racism is all but dead (and that cheese is reading racism where there is none), some feel that it is alive and well and needs to be addressed, and some feel that cheese is painting an image of the white devil for the enjoyment of all TBers.

View the thread as you want, but keep in mind that how you view it is based on your life. Your area of the country, or even of the world. Your experiences. Don't expect that how you view these threads, or what you deduce cheese's motivations are, will be the end all be all truth.
