In short, from the original post and subsequent comments, the assumption that this piece of 6-year-old art is a KKK hat (an ugly symbol of this country's racist past), that the teacher should have realized this, anticipated the offensiveness, and intervened, and that he didn't intervene puts him under that shadow of racial insensitivity.

Well, you may have given up on the question of why, but I don't think that makes me a bad person for maintaining my curiosity.

I've never been pulled over for Driving While Black. People don't follow me around when I go shopping. There are a million things that are everyday occurances for some people that I have no experiance with personally.

I find an open discussion about such topics to be enlightening. Both socially, and personally. Anyone that tells you they don't have some really ****ed up beliefs concerning people that don't look like them is most likely lying. (That's been my personal experiance anyway.)

I rather enjoy Dr. Cheese's threads concerning these issues. I may not always respond appropriately, but that's because I'm probably better off reading them instead of participating.

Asking why doesn't make you a bad person, I never said that. What I said was that expecting some one to post on something they don't find interesting isn't a legitimate position. You can take people to task all you want for what they DO post/publish, but not what they don't, at least on an internet forum.

Okay, I get that. It seems pretty obvious that this subject interests Cheese, that has been firmly established.

His interest (I think an earlier poster referred to it as "pathological") makes me curious as to why he is so interested in it to the point that he posts these scenarios with an almost obsessive regularity.

Cheese's interest is legit. My curiosity as to why is legit.
