This thing here started its life as the fancy version of the Benchmade Bugout, the one with carbon fiber scales and the S90V blade.
Of the original knife, the blade, the knob for the Axis lock and the pocket clip remain.
I've swapped the scales, the back spacer, the thumb studs and all the screws for titanium ones.
It's all dull and grey now, with a dash of faded black.

The simplicity and precision get me every time I lay hands on one. I even had a beaten up Sebenza for a while that had seen more than a decade of heavy use and this one worked just as precise as a brand new one. I wish I could get myself to like the size and blade shape, but it does not work for me.
The top bowie is a one off it has a hamon , really cool knife. Middle knife is a Randal and of course last on is a microtec Halo
So, I have thought of the many odd ways that an OTF automatic knife could end up in the hands of someone in a state in which said knife is illegal, and it is for sure possible that someone could just forget it and leave it at your house if they are visiting from out of state and have their own means of legally transporting an automatic knife across state lines. These things are not crazy and these circumstances exist but I won't complete a few stages because I think it is in bad faith and I really don't need an auto that bad and if I did I would really just want the Osborne and that isn't OTF and there goes my whole argument... BM 748 it is...
Just got this from USPS. It is insanely light.
And, as the name suggests, it's pretty narrow. Especially compared to a Contego.

Big difference in widths!... I was cleaning/checking out my EDC/Hoffner 3.5" folder this morning and its' blade isn't all that thick, either, but gets the job done (I'm waiting for Brian's semi-annual BOGO sale so I can stock up on some more).

I regret not grabbing one when they first came out. Metallurgical voodoo indeed. The 748 is even lighter than my 940-1 and that's pretty much just CF and a blade.
Next on the hit list is looking like a 710...

Miyabi 5000FCD. Looks cool and matches my kitchen vibe. Sharp as heck. Thought my BM748 came sharp but not like this... No idea if this is for a fancy chef but a fancy chef I am not. It'll look badarse and cuts stuff.

Bad pic. But just picked this up. The 940 Series is one of my favorites. Love how it sits in the pocket. My 940-2 is getting pampered at Benchmade HQ. Love the blue Micarta and the 390 steel on this one!!!
