I have a '93 fretless with an 18v preamp and a 6-position selector switch. I hadn't played it in many years. I broke it out a couple days ago, and noticed something that doesn't seem right.

The stacked tone knobs don't work in when the selector switch is in any of the 3 passive positions. The knobs work fine in the 2 active settings.

Is this the way it was designed, or is there something wrong?

I'm in. Had 5 at one point. Now down to two. First is a black FCS Body with a post Fender fretless neck (unlined).

My price is a 1985, #047. The VERY first to roll off the production line with the current factory configuration (placement of pickups, etc.). Has the rare and uber-hot Pre and the side by side series pickups. This was Tiran Porter's bass which I acquired in trade with him. The back is also unfinished per his specs which looks and feels sweet. It's midnight blue and it is strung with Maxima gold strings. Dope!

You don't have a manual??? smcd, You should sell that bass right now before anything else goes wrong. I'd be glad to help you out.

Hot Pockets?? I may have to do that. Those things are delicious!!

I went through the Fender Kubicki 4-position switch manual. Though they say the top tone knob has no function in passive mode, they say the bottom knob functions as a standard tone control, and that doesn't happen on my bass.

Hot Pockets, though.....
