How does the tension of the 760FS set compare to a set of Rotosound RS77LDs? I didn't like the tension on the Rotosound flats at all, but I would love to find a medium set of flats that had similar tension to Rotosound roundwounds.

Anyone tried the Carvin flats. I was told by them that they were indeed LaBella. I know this has been controversial. I'm gonna call them again. Anyone tried them anyway.

The La Bellas, at similar gauges to the Rotos, will feel less stiff, in my experience. The 760FS set will be more supple than that set of Rotos.
Now, if you want a similar stiffness to a set of 45-105 rounds, I suggest the 760FL set, or maybe even the 760FX set.

Just ordered the Jamerson set for my Squier VM P bass. I have DR flats on now and before that chromes. Hopefully my P bass is up for the job. From what I have read they're really high tension strings.
) from my Jazz Bass, because the tension is so high that notes come out a bit 'plinky' and piano-like with my (fairly weak) plucking
. It's just like the OP said, he had a tone rattling round inside his head' and found it with the LaBellas - this set is just right for me and they only get to sound better as they get older, IMO Yes I'm sure that they could be some OEM thing. Is LaBella big enough though as a Company to retool and make something special for Carvin?
$55.00 at Just Strings for a 5 string
$26.00 for Carvin
I vowed that I would never buy another set of LaBella strings after a very bad experience with a set of acoustic bass guitar strings with non metallic cores. Three of them broke before reaching standard pitch. I took the "E"'string off and threw it in the trash. It sounds like flats are their speciality. I'm tempted to try a set of 760's. I can't imagine liking them any better than TI Jazz flats I put on my Jazz in late June.
Labella makes Sadowsky flats, too. And by all accounts they're DRASTICALLY different. So I wouldn't be at all surprised if they do make something special for Carvin. Though in Carvin's case, I'd have reservations about "special."
