the tone question REALLY depends on what pickups and pre-amp are in the basses...if the US lakland is older and has the Barts, there will be a SIGNIFICANT sound difference....if it has the LH3, they will sound almost identical....

I agree with Markus that the neck will feel "slightly" better....I have 2 US 55-94 series basses (my 55-07 and my fretless) and a sweet AMBER 55-02 and I really like the feel of all 3 (I also owned a sweet tabacco burst 55-94 that I am kicking myself for selling 'cause of the sweet birdseye maple neck!!!)...

anyways - I love my 55-02 just as much as my US lakies and it will prbably be with me forever.....

can you give us more details (like year etc)? the US basses will have a Birdseye maple neck whereas a 55-02 will not and the RW is slightly nicer on a US Lakie....

Dan - I agree...I like the LH3 better than the Barts myself....

where do you play!!??? 45 strings/winds??? wow!!! must be fun! do you play in some off keys because of the winds?

Blond and blue Lakland Owner's Group....there are a few of us with that combo out there....I suggested this about a month ago and it took you this long to see it?

would love a comparison....or send them all to me and I will copare them for you!!!! (he he!!!)

Just watched the movie "Defiance" last night - about a group of Jewish parisans during WW II...stared Daniel Craig (Bond - James Bond) and Liev Schreiber (X-Men - Wolverine etc)...

wow - what a GREAT picture.....a true story of bravery and making a "community" work in such savage surroundings.....

rent it - you will not be sorry....

Blond and blue? On one bass? I'm not getting it. You have one blond bass, I don't see any blue in it.:confused:

Yeah, right!;) We'll have to get together with Jeff one of these days and do all kinds of Lakland comparisons.

I was wondering the differences in tone between the US and skylines with the LH3 in both of them. There are a few up on the classifieds that I'm gunning for, but I got to wait for some cash to come in.

Basically, I'm wondering if two indentical Laklands, (5 stringers, LH3 and maple necks) will sound and feel close enough to not warrent. or warrent, the couple extra grand.

no no!!! jeas!!!! a blond Lakland and a blue Lakland.....it is a small club right now but there MAY be more as time moves on....

I agree on the mini-GTG!!!! some Thai food and then some rolling thunda!!!!

The birdseye maple (if it is nice) may be worth it alone!!! they should sound VERY close!!!!

Why those colors? You could pick any number of combos with your pile of Laklands!

Nah, my call wasn't important. I'm stoked about NYC and the GTG next weekend, though!

ETA: I called after playing tour guide Thursday afternoon for a TBer from Luxembourg and his friend, both of whom will be at the GTG. We had a good time!

Oh my god she's incredible! Saw them a couple years back at the Triple Door in Seattle & it was absolutely KILLER! :bassist:

All TBers on the East Coast NEED to go see the Power Trio! They are totally awesome, you will NOT be disappointed! :hyper:
