BTW - used my "dyno combo" (55-07 and 55-94 fretless) at church yesterday.....wow! that is a sweet pair to play with!

the 55-07 got a tonal workout....playedone "dixie land" jazz type and a "down home country" praise songs where I was able to get a nice deep boom out of it (not quite as "upright sounding" as if it had flats but still good)....shook the house! then I got more modern with the News Boy's "I Am Free" (kinda U2 feel to it)...and mellowed out with Casting Crown's "Who Am I?"...thought about using the fretless at first for this one but the 55-07 just sounded "cleaner" which is what the song needed...

used the fretless on the last few song of the service....they NEEDED Major MWAH and got it!!!

you know, I KNEW the CHI's were versatile but I really proved it to myself and the rest of the band yesterday!

the classic comes with a pickgaurd but it is not attached, giving you the option of rather or not to use it.

Hey gang, Im sort of a lurker in this forum. I just saw a used CAR 55-01 online at Guitarcenter.com for $399 !! Im not a 5 string player but I just thought that was one heck of a deal on a now discontinued color and thought someone over here might be interested in it. Just search for Lakland under basses in their used gear section. If it was a 44-01 I would have been all over it !

Kevin: GREAT price! someone better grab that one.....CAR is beautiful....of course YOU know that...you had the CAR JO fretless for a while....

And, I don't see how selling them on a bass can really help reverse engineering. After all, you don't have to destroy pickups, do you
