I really like his stuff! Good "design to" music for sure!

Check this guy out......he is a friend of Dan's and has quite a lauded past as well......I think you will be impressed with some of the bands he has played with.

the song you hear on the web site comes of the album called "Other Planets".....and YES it is a Lakland.....very cool! I have heard the rest of the album...VERY COOL!

also - John Pirruccello (former Lakland employee and current Hanson (pickups and guitars) employee) plays steel guitar on the album!

as an aside, Erik has agreed to pick out a cut for the forthcoming LOG CD.....

if any of you still want to donate a track to the LOG CD let me know (we are finalizing the cuts soon)....e-mail them to me at: [email protected] (they have to be originals to bypass copy write issues).....

Thanks. I still can't make up my mind about black/tort PG. I think I slightly prefer the black, even though most of youse fellas seem to prefer tort. Small potatoes really, it's nearly impossible to make it look bad.... short of smearing stickers all over it:smug:

Just a great timeless finish. Here's a blast from the past...

I definately prefer the black PG.
So Markus, that is the bass that became Orange Crush? Did you get it retrofitted for Chi-Sonics first, and then at some point, sent it off to Pat Wilkins, for him to do his magic?

Yep...that's it! ChiSonics rounted at Lakland and then sent to Pat...then back to Lakland, then back to Cali! I'm more of a tort guy with rw boards.

Well, thanks to the fine folks at Willie's (a.k.a. Nick ;)) and Leo... I'm the proud owner of a US Glaub.

Sherwood Green.
Mint PG.
Jazz taper neck.

Sweet Jesus, this thing is amazing.

Complete and utter HOTNESS (you know, for a defective bass, lol)!!!!!!

Nice, and that tort looks great too:hmm: I wish I could get used to playing with the chrome covers on.... it looks so slick:cool:

As you say, the finish is great. However, i'm honestly not a huge natural fan(I like it, it's cool, just don't love it), and some of you guys certainly don't help with your "custom" finishes:D, so i've been contemplating having it refinished(sorry Evan:ninja:) But then sometimes I look at it and it's just perfect.

I traded my Sadowsky Metro in Transparent White/tort for this bass, and I don't regret the trade at all.... not one iota(sp?) but that finish just ruled! If I were to do it, it would probably be transparent vintage blond, or possibly even something totally different than what it is now, like Coral Pink w/matching headstock(not for everyone, but I love it). I'm just affraid that the "novelty" of it may wear off some day.

Hmm. Decisions, decisions:hiding:

Sorry, something about that pickguard just looks wonky to me. To my eye, it kind of fights the shape of the whole lower curvature of the bass. Kinda killin' the sexy for me, I guess. just one man's opinion ;)

I do really like the simplistic look of the single/stacked knob though.

If I were going to go that mod route, I think I'd go with something more like this...

Looks like someone else likes your pickguard also. Check out post #47
