DA make an SL length specifically for that application.
Some makers, like DR, make one length to cover all.

I made usre to ask if this was the case or not with dunlop, and the rep at perfect bass did actually pull a set and measure against a 5501. just didn't account for the exterior wrap not being long enough; which he really would have had to mount them to see...

Ah...If I didn't like the Dunlops, I'd check into the availability of mediums that long. The Pro Steels, and half-rounds I tried were the same way.

cool...will have to figure it out....yeh they freak out at any protein!

why is it tougher to bring in a Skyline than a US? just curious...

I can deke out any Canadian customs official.

Aw crap: there I go again. What I meant to say was 'It'd be so cool to be able to deke out any Canadian customs official.' I'd be bringing home cases of Mr. Coppolla's best wines, plus as many of your pretty axes as I could carry. As it is, that conversation would likely end up with me paying duties if any of what I left with was a skyline. I'm in the clear for anythign US-made, though... taxes aside.

But would I be able to slip a couple of elk steaks past *US* customs? Those guys are nasty.

Oh: Last week we had these great burgers. We found patties made from a blend of bison, deer and boar (all from Québec-grown animals). The boar was a nice addition because the higher fat acted as a binder on the other two super-lean meats and kept the patties from disintegrating on the barbecue. And they tasted freakin' delish.

If you're ever up in the Great White North on business or pleasure, We're in for a wicked meal.

PS: 'Deep Blue' = epic win.

They had ONE order of Skyline maple fretless necks come in from Korea a couple of years ago......not sure if it was an "error" or what....I almost got one put on a 44-02 but.....well, the 55-94 fretless became "available" and well....at least THAT time I intended to buy a bass.....not to spend THAT much on one but the intent was there...

woah woah woah... pump the brakes here... lakland has fretless MAPLE necks?!?

congrats and welcome!

I am finally a Lakland owner!!! Here is my brand new Skyline Decade I picked up. I played her for a day and decided she needed flats. Not my "go to" yet...but she is getting there.

Modding it already!!?????

As I have said before....LOVE that Cherry Burst deluxe!

hey guys....NBD NBD NBD!!! HeeHee.....and met another great TBer and LOGer....Bassman7pm, thanks for a great bass and a great deal! Pics will be coming soon.

55-01D, Quilted Cherryburst, Rosewood. Here are the questions: FatStacks or Big Splits?????? Hmmmmm? Maybe an East U-Retro???

P.S. I just love it when my wife reads over my shoulder correcting my bass grammar. She did allow me to buy this one so she gets a free pass....THIS TIME!!!

nice!

May have to try some flats on my JOCS5 (YES - you heard me Markus and Greg...we'll see!)

those necks are so sweet!

if you get a Duck Dunn you will get the exact same neck you have here.....a DJ neck is quite different....rounder feel to it...

I'm digging it more and more. I didn't like it at first with the Lakland rounds, but as soon as I put my Fender flats on it...it came to life. Sweet tones through my Ampeg B-15N! I used it solo at church on Sunday and the leader said he loved the tone through my Walkabout. The neck on these is so nice...makes me want to sell my Yamahas and grab a Duck Dunn or DJ.

cool! when I was in the shop on Saturday with Carl there was a nice active there.....I would prefer the active...but that is "just me"....plus it would be very different from your current stable....

Congrats dude! I'm waiting for my Skyline Decade to arrive any day now. I told them to send me either active or passive, so it will be a surprise to see which I get.
