I'll have to weigh it...feel pretty light...I'm sure wood is still a big factor.

My alder body Decade weighs in at a very comfortable 9.2 lbs.

All Skyline 5 string necks, with the exception of the DJ5, are the same neck. The holes may not exactly line up, but the sizing is the same.

How would you solve that (hole alignment) ? Fill the holes in the neck and re-drill ? (That's something I'd have give to a Luthier whereas a straight swap I could do myself)

yep. I was looking for a neck once and Dan offered me a spare one. He said I'd need to fill and drill. from what he said it was no big deal

Sorry... "sandwich" as in many layers of (often) exotic woods laminated together like a lot of the single cut ERBs etc etc.

Your bass is definitely not ugly w/ the wood knobs though, BTW.

Heh, after I posted and thought about it a bit, I kind of figured that's what you meant.

And yeah, it's hard to go wrong with that bass. I could prob use cubes of Limburger cheese for knobs and it would look sexy... though the stank would be a different story

nice to hear from and your world travels....why don't you put a short paragraph on the LOG about each country (IF you get to see anything beyond teh office and hotel that is!)

Guys.... those of you who like the -02 series. Convince me why the 02 is worth the extra $$$ over the 01. Personally I the 01 lacks in the visual department but thats just me.

Denis really covered this.....the -02 LH3 preamp and pickup configuration gives you ALOT more versatility than the -01 set up. the -01 is a solid bass. I think there is a wider range of sounds.....BOTH look hawt!

Yeah. Sad to see him go, but change will always be a constant, and who knows... maybe it will be a good thing for him and Lakland too.

All I know is that Lakland is still going to be ran by seasoned veterans of the company, and I feel their going to be even more successful.

God knows they get all my money!!

I love the change, I'm just more of a J-bass kind of guy I guess. It sounds and looks a lot more like I wanted it to and still has the feel of the 55-02.

Yeah Dub, that black guard makes your JO5s body look dark and rich like a dark chocolate covered caramel!! That maple neck contrasts it well too. I like it!! Beautiful bass, and great photo!


Oh, and the white DJ by the pool (belongs to someone else)... very nice!!
