I cant wait for the gk-3b pickup and for Carl to slim that neck down. Even slimmer than US laky's!!

Oh, and the big reason the ramps and extra frets are rosewood was I told him I dont care of the ramps are green and the frets were pink. Frankenstein my baby I told him. :D:cool:

Anyone taken delivery yet of a LOG bass? Just wondering if anyone would care to comment on owner satisfaction thus far, finish comments (really diggin it, but still prefer CAR), merits of the RW board versus the Maple (or vice versa) and any unique thoughts on tone vs. other Lakland P5s (BG, etc.).

Log basses won't be in till I think December.
There are prototypes that were done. I can post pics later tonight.
The LOG is having an event at Lakland on October 23rd.
The LOG basse swill be available to try with the 3 different pickup options

Thanks Gecko, ooh how I wish I could swing a trip to Chicago for the GTG. Will probably have to rely on others impressions, of which, I am sure there will be many.

Ive spotted a 55-60 in Teal/matching headstock thats just come in stock near me. Never seen one before and the colour is great. Rosewood/dots, and it looks great like that.

I really am tempted, as its quite light and much better than the other ones they have in. Itll go quick if I dont get it but im low on cash...arghghgh

Off topic here, but I have to ask.... how do you like the NV425 compared to the 215? I've enjoyed my NV425 for about 6 years now, and would love to add a 215. When I bought mine, I could not make up my mind on which one to get. I basically flipped a coin and ended up with the 425, but i've always drooled over those 215's.

One of the advantages of running 2 of the same amps w/ a signal splitter pedal is that I can compare the 2 cabs by muting one or the other. You can really hear the difference between the 425 and 215. The 215 is just thunderous, while the 425 is punchy and bright sounding... you can better hear the trebly string noise that sometimes helps the bass cut through in loud hard rock.

The guitarist said he liked the 425 better after we played a few songs. Then I muted the 215 and most of the BOOM went away... it made him think twice, LOL. If I had to use just one cab, I'd have a hard time picking! I would definitely have to boost the bass to get the oomph out of the 425, that I'm used too from the 215. But for effects, the 425 wins big!

Well . . . it's Pat's version of Firemist. It's a little lighter than the Fender version I'm used to. But it has this cool browny-green undertone to it in dim light. I'll try to get better pix.

But yeah - totally loving it.
