LAKLAND OWNERS GROUP #48

Hey dudes I have a few new releases out this week that I used Lakland basses on. The first is a free Christmas download on iTunes this week. It's called "Wish List" by Neon Trees (my band). I used my Skyline Decade w/ ChiSonics, w/ DR flats. Recorded it super dirty via the Aguilar Tone Hammer.

Also, we released an unplugged set in conjunction w/ iTunes called the "Soho Sessions". I used my USA Lakland p-bass with the Aguilar Tone Hammer and TLC Compressor pedal. I really dig the tone we got.

not a GREAT pictures but:

I need to find a good place IN my house which gets alot of light.....I cannot seem to find anywhere!

This thing sounds GREAT!

actually - thinking about replacing the pickuard....ideas welcome!

You are next to a window now!!! j/k... Try repositioning the bass so that you are between the window and bass. St this point, your camera sees more light in the window which makes the subject (bass) appear darker. Or send it to me for photos, I'll try not to lose it in the return path, you never know about those transit guys...

I like the current PG style/color. Don't touch it! Though without is cool as well, only if mo holes are present, that is...

You guys are getting lots of air play on XM/Sirius on several channels. Must feel great to be breaking thru.

BTW, I grew up in SLC, so we have at least two things in common (love of Laklands being the other, 'course).

I was hoping for that! I like it!

Cool man! Thanks!

Hey folks. So I got my new 55-02 back from getting the buzzing issue solved and used it for my CD launch Friday and Saturday night. Felt weird not to be using my P bass, but I got used to the Lākland neck again pretty quickly.

But, since I'd only bought the P out of exasperation with Lākland, I figured that the new Chi-town management's efforts to finally make me a happy customer again deserved it.

The upshot? I still have to play with the DIP switches to get back to the voice I liked on the other one. Granted, the pre-d been so worked on just to get it to work, that I don't know if I'll ever *really* get it. I know nothing about such things, so I may be saying nonsense. But you know...

The Lakkie neck is noticeably faster than the P's. I'd never noticed before because I switched to my first 55-02 from a Godin, which have the same general shape to 'em, but are narrower.

Anyway, I've come to the conclusion that I like it and am a happy Lākland owner again. It took a couple of years, but it's good to be back. I have to say that the new management had a lot to do with that. I think that, without them, I'd still have Amber North, and still have electrical tape over the name on the headstock.

Of course, I really like that P as well, so I'll probably mix it up every now and again.

The CD launch went well. We sold a bunch of discs. Which is cool, considering how much it costs to make these things.

Oh by the way:

Not on the Canadian iTunes. It's a normal pay D/L up here. I bought it anyway, of course. I mean, we're talking about a measly $1.29 to support a fellow TBer, fergossakes.

But I guess that's just life for us non-US guys in a world where the tech distro is all based south of the border. Sigh.

I'm going to give it a listen in the car in about twelve seconds.

Excellent news, Branden! I'll have to check'em out.
