Hey all! Awesome looking basses in here, that trans white would be AMAZING with a matching headstock IMO.

Now, onto more serious business...Any idea on when the sound clips for the LOG bass pickups will be in?

Also, I emailed Leo two weeks ago with my new address and I haven't heard anything back. Is this normal or should I hit him again?

Leo has been pretty busy...hit him again....

I was in teh shop earlier this week to pick up a bass from Carl and Leo told me the clips would be up "soon"....JP has been on tour and just got back in town....in an email exchange LAST week, JP told me that he would make the clips a priority when he returned....

:hyper:

BTW - 5-6 weeks until L-day! (LOG bass day!)

... yeahaa !

congrats! you made my night...

Hey guys! Just wondering if the January 2011 Trans Blue 55-01's will come in 55-02 too?

no...not yet...I asked JP about that but he said he was trying to give the -01 series a little more lovin' right now.....it DOES deserve it!

I told him that an -02 series would sell like hot cakes!

if you look up a few posts you will see my 55-07 redeaux in teh same blue quilt...burt with a special "Pat Wilkins" touch that makes the quilt stand out more....LOVE THAT COLOR!

My one and only (2005 5501) until my LOG P5 arrives - waiting for the 5501 Chi's for it. I have had this Bass 1 year and one month, it gets almost exclusive play time. My two Spectors (a 6 'er and a 4 banger) and my P-Bass with flats are the only others that get occasional love. The other 7 Basses sit idle, time to thin the Herd and get the Lakland Jazz I want.

There ya go....selling 7 will definately give you Lakie-funds!!!

Alan - I am glad you like it!!!!this bass really is somethin' special!!

Three gigs on the BG5 now:
I suppose this is still honyemoon-ish, but, that bass *rips!*

An aside:
Bama sent it to me in a brand new, new style Lakland hard shell case.
I'm not a hard case guy.
If anyone wants to wheel and deal on it, shoot me a pm.

I'm lame, still no pix of my own:

hugging all of his Laklands:p

they don't all fit on one couch!!!:D

actually - no turkey for me :( - my mo-in-law decided on roast beef...really good but I did feel like I was missing something...

we are doing the Turkey complete with stuffing, vanilla-bourbon cranberries (a specialty of mine) and all of the other fixin's) at Christmas!

Who at Lakland do I need to talk to about pricing and options for a custom 55-94 or JO5 or whatever it is now? (34" scale, different pups, ect)

email [email protected] and cc: [email protected]

they MAY refer you to a local shop but since you have "custom" issues I would start with them....cannot wait to see what you are thinking about!!!

I'm still hoping for one.. :D

I have the passive tone control on mine as well....NO ISSUES!

easy to use....mine is hooked up so that it works both in passive and active modes...carl thinks I am nuts but - oh well! what is new.....here is a picture of Blue Velvet for my first post of #48!

oh man Ferg!!! fantastic! love 'em both!!!

VERY nice! congrats on a sweet bass with some sweet grainage!

VDERY cool color combos there Gus! lovin' the ying and yang look!

how ya lovin the 55-94???

as for 3.5 months...yea - I know....oh well....

Matty! what a GREAT three-some you got there! you guys are gonna get me in trouble.....too many cool pics to multipost!

congrats on a sweet bass! light you say" yup rare for a DJ5.....mine was pretty heavy but I loved the sound! also the metallic paint is awesome on these!!!

congrats!!!! those are hot! 2 months will go by slow BUT you are right...WELL worth the wait!

wow! I did not know that...not surprising though! I think they will have to do a second run ...those are so sexy!

I'm with ya Gordon.....100% (except I do imbibe in an occasional cigar a couple of times per year!)

Oly white would be GREAT but I am sure these will fit the bill nicely!

I cannot wait to see pics of the real thing!

NOT supossed to be online when you are in the air...tsk tsk!!!!

AREA:

wowsa!!! nice quilting on that 55-02!!!!

you are set man!!! nice pair you got there!

The main differences are the neck (US Lakie necks are AWESOME), wood choices (no choice on the Skylines...pretty much ANY wood you want on a 55-94 - within reason!) and the ability to get any color you want....also, the quilts seem to be nicer on US models.

if you are just getting into Lakies, i would say go with a Skyline...I think you will be impressed with the quality and sound.....GREAT value for the price! I slowely moved from a Skyline to US collection...although I still have one Skyline that I cannot seem to get rid of (SKY jO5) because it is such a freakin' GREAT playa!

Taht being said,......IF you can, play a US neck...they are fantabulous and may help you in your decision process!

as fotr the 9 volt compartments...yeh - older ones did not have them...all newer ones do....

good luck and let us know what you end up with....

cool! The -01 series are on the low end of the PRICE scale but NOT the quality scale!

I have said this MANY times and beleive it to this day...I will place a Skyline up against MANY US made basses and feel it will win in the quality, sound and feel category every time!

"Candy Tangerine" is a cool color...ever think of "Markus Orange"? :ninja:

Aaron...GREAT bass...BUT isn't this job BETTER than the last one??????

Like I said before...I got dibs!!!

Leo has been pretty busy...hit him again....
