Took a nice pic of my Hollowbody.

So, that's where they place a passive tone control on a 55-94 - in between the volume knob and the blend knob?
Looks like the spacing might be a little tighter than between the other knobs; any problems?
Obligatory Family Photo for #48Loving the Chi's but Golden Oldie is still #1
Traded my DJ4 natural for this 55-02 natural. Thanks Christian.
I got a thing for natural basses. Interesting grain pattern in this one, funky.

I just got my second Lakland in as many months!
Sold a Modulus to buy a jazz bass because I was bitten by the single coil bug! Needed to be 35" scale and within my budget, so the obvious choice was a DJ5. The hunt was on and it didn't take long for Jorge's to pop up here on TB. Jorge was happy to deliver it to my house, even though he drove an hour to get here! The bass was pristine and LIGHT, a big plus in my book, and a rare find in a DJ5 from what I have read. Can't wait to get the bass to rehearsal.

Siked! I ordered a 55-60 Limited Edition in Translucent White! It's supposed to arrive in January, so I have to wait for almost two months but my guess is that it's worth it

Can't wait!
Nice score! Those trans white Skyline JOs are going to look great. I stopped by Lakland today for a bit (yes, I live close by) and they said those are almost sold out already.
I need a cigarette... Wait a minute, I don't smoke!
I agree, the trans white is a top runner...
Yeah I wanted a Skyline 55-60 in Olympic White to match my '66 Fender, but Lakland doesn't build those, regularly. Then they came out with the limited trans white, and I thought: I WANT THAT!
@Markus: Can't wait for the larger pic![]()
Not home yet. Still flying. Landing in about 20 minutes
looking for advice from all you Lakland owners. Pretty sure my next bass (5-string) is either a 55-94 or a 55-02, any comments on detailed reasons why the 94 is worth the extra $2200. I've read the technical differences looking for some firsthand experience.
Also, I've seen that current 55-94's have a separately accessible 9volt compartment, but some do not. Is this an indication of age or model, or anything?
thanks in advance!
I have the passive tone control on mine as well....NO ISSUES!
easy to use....mine is hooked up so that it works both in passive and active modes...carl thinks I am nuts but - oh well! what is new.....here is a picture of Blue Velvet for my first post of #48!

I've played every Lakland that I could get my hands on and the 2 that I own are an '02 55-01 that I've had since '02 and a 44-01 that I just picked up. There was a huge difference to me the second that I plugged in the 44-01 at band practice. I had been using a MIA Jazz bass, but the 44-01 just does it for me.
The 44-01 is natural with a maple fretboard, but I'm probably sending it off to be painted Candy Tangerine.![]()

WooHoo! I finally went and picked up my new bass. I will post pics tonight, but it is nicer than these pics show. Can't wait........stoooopid work makes me work a little everyday instead of playing with my lakies.
