Thanks for the compliment!

I did not get rid of all the original bass, but it is very, very low by targeting the EQ.

The SVT patch is not in Audacity (though you can do plugins in Audicity).
It's from my Zoom B9.
Which with a little tweaking makes a very convincing SVT tone IMO...

I've been pondering a couple goofy questions in regards to my black beauty (the Duck Dunn)....since I cannot afford a replacement USA abalone block bound neck with 1 3/4 nut, I was wondering if a Skyline bob glaub neck would 'temporarily' fit in its place...so

#1 Would that work?, #2 Can I get a just a Skyline neck, #3 What kind of $$ would I be talking about?? #4 are there any used Skyline glaub necks out there that were orphaned from bodies that spontaneously combusted or something like that ;)

I believe Terry (buffordbass) did that with a US body that he purchased. I don't think it was a "direct" fit. You may want to ask him about the details.

Skyline and Us necks are not designed to be interchangeable. If you install a Skyline neck on a US body, shims will be required. If tinted to a similar color, this may not be too noticeable. The shims will need to be added along both sides of the neck to center it int the pocket.

I suspect the slight differences may have been part of the design to head off or discourage folks form doing this. However if not for that reason, they are indeed manufactured by different facilities/shops and thus will have some variations with that in mind.

Maybe a Us neck could be sanded down slightly on both sides at the heel to fit a Skyline body pocket. However, by the time you purchased a Us neck, a Skyline bass to swap parts on, you might as well bought a good used US model in today's market. That is unless you stumbled across a very good deal on a damaged bass.

RE: The bass Terry salvaged, the end result looks very good. The guys at Lakland were able to breath life back into that bass and deemed it play-worthy afterwards.

The scary thing is...when I last inquired, a replacement neck with the same specs as my USA duck dunn (special abalone inlays, binding) but with 1 3/4 nut width would cost more than a complete skyline glaub bass!!
