made me go to a different brand for my latest five string.
now, i've never been a Lakland purist, but it was a factor.

Likewise for my last 2 basses, with my eye on a third...

Hey thanks guys. Pat Wilkins does quality work and is a really nice guy. If you are ever interested in getting something painted, shoot him and e-mail and he can talk to you about any ideas you have. If you can think it up, it can probably be done.

I agree...the chrome surrounds make them "fit" well.

yes - they have formed dots on them....thinking about using a perm marker so I can see them better in low light...

Looks quite classy, though I actually like the plain black knobs on mine. I think the chrome knobs go better on Chi-equipped basses because of the chrome-looking pups.

Do those knobs have indicators on them? I actually depend on the indicator lines on my black ones to help dial in a consistent tone each gig.

Hey guys! I wanted to post over at the lakland owners board but I am having alot of issues. Maybe it's my browser (chrome on a macbook pro).

Anyway I thought I would post here that I am on the search again for a LPB Skyline Glaub. If any of you know of one or own one and want to part with it let me know!

hmmm......I have had a few issues today but they seem to be cleared up....we have thought about switching platforms but (ongoing) cost and effort are high to do that.....will look into it...

Hey guys, wanted to share with you my Lakland 5502. Just had it painted by Pat Wilkins. I got the idea for the colors from this Gretsch drumset. What do you think?

THAT IS UBER COOL!!!! I love it....nice and personalized....very unique.....nice touch.

Looking back at it, I really like how the graphic rolls onto the backside and not just a front face. That completed detail really knocks it out of the park!

Thought Lakland was going to offer a 34" scale on 5 strings? Brian just emailed me and sd they no longer offer this option! Apologize if this has already been discussed!

hmm.....wonder why? maybe they could not get the B string right? if you want one], try emailing Carl Pedigo at Chicagobassdoctor.com he can custom build anything you want at a decent price....(not that I want to take Lakland business away.....) but if you really want a 34".....

Hrm. I prefer it without the guard. Maybe if you can get one in a shade that matches the white finish on the body... Though I thought it looked just fine nekkid.

+1 on no guard. The paint job is fantastic, and looks great without any other additions. OK...maybe some pearl white knobs painted the same color. ;-) Really nice design...

Hello all, wondering if someone can help me out. I just purchased a black and maple 4402 from BassCentral and am trying to get a pickguard made for it. I contacted Jeannie Pickguards and they said they need to know if it's Korean or Indonesian. SN# is 100709942 so am assuming it may be an Indonesian. Jeannie's is saying they're not sure if the Korean template they have will work on the Indonesian models, would anyone happen to know if a Korean pickguard works on an Indonesian made bass or if there is a difference in the distance from the heel to the pickup. Thanks for any help and looking forward to posting pics of the bass when I get it and joining the group.

Welcome and congrats on your new Lakie!!!

Unfortunately, Indo models are slightly different than the former Korean models. Since Rodger stated he doesn't have a template for your bass, you may be better off sending him the bass so that he can ensure the PG fits correctly. Otherwise, no guarantees.

Do you have 6mm or .25in pot shafts. The ones you linked to look to be for 6mm shafts.

I guess I have 0.25in. I didn't know there were different sizes.

Would anyone mind pointing me in the right direction?

So I'm assuming if you think you have 0.25in shafts that the ones you ordered won't even slide on? You may want to take a ruler and measure them first off to make sure. Then you're going to want to look for knobs that say they fit 0.25in or USA solid shaft pots.
