Yep Firemist....I think the owner had it made in that color special order...like colabbed with Pat W and came up with the color.

My rule is, cash sales for face to face transactions only. All other get some sort of protection. If someone is worried about fees I will do my best to pay them an amount that will help cover it. There really is no reason not to do Paypal past the fees. It is 100% more convenient for all parties.

I 100% agree on using Fedex.

'wodka' is Polish actually...you got to say 'vodka' out loud and proud to really dig the taste
that said, I'm more of a wine liker kind. I mean, I can do the full vodka glass trick if you want me to act as a circus bear thing... can do it a few times in a row... but better not ask for more as we both won't enjoy the consequences ;)

thanks for the compliment! trying to do my best in English. I make mistakes sometimes, yes... yet, the thing that bothers me more is why would you want to talk about fantasizing about Carl :hiding:

AHHH!!!! maybe that is the issue!!!!

check the internal gain knob (see here...bottom of the page):

.....the knob may be turned WAY too low (so the outputs match)...in which case you may be amplifying the "noise" by turning up the volume.....

carl says this happens from time to time...tweak the output screw and see if your issue goes away!!!!

since you mention this, Do IRC that the LH-3 preamp doesn't have the output volume control? I like it on the barts, but the LH-3 stompbox doesn't have one which I would like

Guys, who else has or has tried a LH-3 stompbox out there? I have a few user questions for ya.

1) I am a GIN martini guy...hate vodka actually!

2) no problemo...tyour englich is VERY good!....he he he.....I would not...hope you do not either!!!

3) actually - it wa pretty good!

4) that was one of teh "technical difficulties" we had! the email looked good when I reviewed it in the 'preview pane" but 100s of LOG members got blank emails!!!! argh!~!!

The LH3 DOES have the control....

in the stomp box version, you have to remove the screw holding on the circuit board component and turn the board over to access it...I forget WHY Carl said he had to mount the board this way.....be careful though...any static charge could cause damage to the board....make sure to ground yourself...

HOLY $HIT

I don't know what made you say about the static charge and add the pic (a very funny one actually), but as I turned on the lights to disassemble the preamp and examine it, the overhead lamp ff-ing EXPLODED as hell. It was loud as a daym firework =O

I guess you're right and wrong at the same time. I turned the board over (2 screws on mine), and it is flat, plain and boring as a glacier. Not a single unit there. Nada. So Carl must have changed something, although mine, he said, is his very last one and it is marked with "Rev.A". Go figure.
However, on the face side, right under the "LH-3" mark there is something that could be it. It is very small, clockscrew-size small, and made of metal, so it doesn't resemble the one on the barts. It has a cross slot and is marked with "R-19". Will check it out later on.

Still, I have a few questions for those who tried them
1. on mine, the volume knob controls both passive and active modes. When you lower the output in one mode, it will be lowered in the other too. Same on yours?
2. on mine, the button switch is marked as "BYPASS". However, the volume pot also serves as buffer for the passive input. When I bypassed the vol. pot in passive and included it to the active circuit (to have 100% passive signal pass any time and still retain variable active signal), the passive signal is WAY louder than the processed-by-preamp signal. Did you take a chance to peep under the hood on yours? Is it the same?

On a different note, the sound is killah! With the LOG PJ5 VT/VT, it is the parallel universe of the brilliant 94 series, only "passive/active" contrary to the "active/passive" concept of the latter. Hopefully, Hanson do come up with a serial model.
