Not from the CD but George with current band, current Lakie, and in fine form (on bass and vocally).

Andy

VERY nice!!! amazing...singing and the GREAT fingerwork at the same time!!!!

All - thanks for the great help and notes! I've decided I'll be waiting for the next Lakland 55-02 to popup at a good price (& color) as it sounds unanimously worth the extra price for the sound.

Appreciate the warm welcome and help and I look forward to officially joining the 'Lakland Owners group' :D :bassist:

Matt

Anytime Matt!
goodluck with your search...will keep my eyes open!!!

Okay so I bought a lakey 4-07 (or 4-94CS?.. meh I guess it's all the same lol) off a fellow tb'er and it finally arrived in NZ today.. and.. well.. I am quietly humbled by how amazing dan's work is. See, the bass I got is a natural flame maple, normally not my cup of tea cause I like the finish to be a bit more colourful.. but hey I figured, the 07 had all the specs I was looking for so I took a gamble.. and boy did it pay off.. because under the deceptively 'plain' finish lies an absolute tone monster.. this is the first bass I have had which actually reacts properly to subtle eq adjustments.. and those dip switches are amazing! couple of clicks here, mid range adjust there and we can go from a bright sounding jazz to a snarly stingray.. and the chi's blew me away, first bass my neighbours actually complained about lol.. they have forced me to run in single coil mode cause it's too loud in bucker lol.. not that I mind that single sounds sooo nice anyway hehe.. and those dots! the birdseye is so classy! if anyone asks me if it's worth shelling out for the usa.. well just look at the neck!.. YES!.. not to mention the feeeeel of it, so thin and smooth in the hand.. omg sooo happy :hyper: this has finally ended my gear search, no more trading and selling bass after bass to find the perfect one.. meh, I'll get the lakey refinished later on.. but for now.. who cares.. at least it won't get stolen lol.. until they hear it LOL.. besides, under the light that curly maple flame is starting to look like russian fudge.. mmmm.. fudge :smug:

Lakland for life! :D

NICE! congrats!!!! those humbuckers sure ARE like rolling thunda -aren't they???

don't refin it....yours is one of the first....maybe the first....

hi guys,i had a 55-01 a year ago then i sold it and then i became sorry for it :(
anyway..i saw 44-51 on the web page and i fall in love with it :D can i take any comments about it? i intereset with skyline model, anyone tried? can u help me? !!

have not played one of the skylines, but they look GREAT! I have played a couple of US ones....extra great!!!

Who has news from NAMM? I assume we already know the new stuff but does anyone have photos?

see the LOG .....uh...or later posts from markus....

Wow, that 55-94 with the fancy top:eek:

YUP....I was drooling....

Really like the blue 44-94 too with the blonde board. beautiful bass.

yup...purty for sure!

I want Geezer's bass! Fretless with a black pg of course.

....of course!!!

I can see it now, with the booths in the middle wondering why people are rushing past them to get to the Lakland booth because the foot traffic on the race track around the perimeter has stopped moving.

LOL!!!

they seem busy...good thing...

You should really consider picking up a black and maple bass for your stable...:ninja::D

nah....I think it would clash....

Here's some inspiration from my family. Since skylines come black, and fretless have the ebony FB, you can get close...then:
  • Add a black PG (or remove it and put black diamonds in the screw holes.
  • Match the headstock (the "stock" stock is maple, as on most skylines)
  • Add black tapewounds (this pic was before I put them on this bass)
  • And of course...NO LINES! I am not sure that's a Skyline option.

:ninja::hiding:

WHATEVER YOU DO!!!! make sure it is transparent so the flame shows through....

The family may grow in March. The steel gray/rosewood DJ is nice.

they are VERY nice....

Maybe what you need is something like this? :)

Ah what d'ya go and do that for? Now I got three models swimming around in my head, 44, Reversed PJ and now a Decade. Hmmmm......

Brian....why are teh walls in your house so "plain"? I expected something darker....like...BLACK!

The lighting in the dungeon just wasn't right for the shot. Needed more contrast to show off all the black gear. :)

I know what you're thinking Doude, "thehess, don't encourage him!"

LOL on all 3 accounts Brian!!!

my wheels are turning now as well....do you know EXACTLY what I am thinking? doubt it...actually...been thinking about "it" for a while (a week or so at least)...just not sure if I "want" to pull it off....

certain wheels are in motion but...who knows...

Just a little question. I've been looking at Laklands and like what I see and hear. I've seen people talk about short scales. On their current website they only have 34s and 35s listed. Did they at one time make a shorty? A short scale Decade with ChiSonics would make a nice addition to the collection.

Thanks.

Yes they do make a shorty Decade. US only though. More than a nice addition, it's my favorite bass.

thanks Dan!

the LOG management is actually contemplating doing teh cafe press thang instead of the store on the current site....would allow us more variety and NO inventory...also YOU could get what you want and we would not have to pay alot up front...

let us know your thoughts on the LOG site....

peace::D
