I've got a question for you guys:

When I got my 44-60, it came in a Fender branded SKB case. It's a great case, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't form fit around the body well at all.

What case do you use for yours? Hardshell or soft gig bag?

Mono Dual M-80 for me thankyouverymuch. Although the iGig bag rocks as well.

I would assume all of these higher quality bags sit at a reasonable height on your back? Having a majority of the neck over my head is just asking for trouble with me.

I'm 6'3", and regularly take out doorways, scafolding, etc. I found a cheap dual case that sits low enough so I don't kill myself. Considering the mono for when I upgrade, as I have their Producer bag and Kondensor backpack...LOVE them.

Mrfy's Law of Posting: the acceptable count is the following:
a * b / c

where
a = number of Laklands you purchased during the thread's duration,
b = the average number of Doude posts (trust me...it's a large multiplier)
c = Laklands bridge spacing, expressed in millimeters (for roadkill and our other metric loving brethren)

If you exceed this number, you will be banished to post only in Bass Humor until bassagent posts new pics with his hot bandmates.

Kidding, of course. Now off to practice!

man! working full time, being a full time mom and nurse sure takes alot of my internet time away!

I've got a hankering after a bass with MM/P (P/MM ? you know which way round they'd go) pickup config, and I love my 55-02 and 55-94.

So I'm thinking ... 2nd user 55-02, swap the J for a P, and add a scratch plate to cover up the routes.

Here's the dilemma .... the only suitable 55-02 I've seen for a while (in the UK) is a deluxe, sunburst + quilt.

Is it a sin to cover up a quilt to with a scratch plate ? And what might work well visually (I can't picture it in my mind). I think tort next to the quilt might be too much, so I'm thinking probably black.

Of course it might be better to wait for another standard-finish 55-02 to turn up. Tort on black or black on black I know will work.

Oh ... thinking R/W neck BTW.
