I play and sing leads. It requires me to play fairly simple lines. Almost anyone can do it, it really just requires practicing it over and over until it's second nature.

My favorite bands have been ones that I did not sing anything more than backups in though.

Do it bro!! My wife has always said I play bass like a guitarist.... a lead guitarist .... meaning that I am all over the neck and seem to get attention like a guitarist is "supposed" too LOL! All I know is that I'm gonna have fun and get into it!!

Growing older is inevitable.
Growing up will always remain optional.

Step 1 was to remove the neck and send it off to Pat.

Step 2 was to replace the knobs with chrome flat tops.

Step 3 is to wait 2-3 weeks for my neck to come back.

Bingo.....I agree...I keep thinking about how "old" my dad was when he was my age...weird....I may look older and my body sure aches at times (that sucks) but my brain still feels young

Nice! I dislike painted headstocks, so this sounds pretty awesome to me.

Tomorrow afternoon is second jam with a drummer - just drums and bass. My nerves are still shot, but he loved my baby Lakland when I took her the first time, so she's going back. I'm such a beginner, but he hasn't thrown things at me yet, so I think that's a good sign. Any suggestions for success?

Exactly. It is pretty much the one aspect of the Decade I don't like. Luckily I got this at a great price so refinishing the headstock was not an issue. I used this as a template for the finished product. This is one that Markus used to own I believe.

I would like to see a Skyline in Shoreline Gold and standard non-blocked neck at some point.
