Only one in the world as most of us well know.

ya never know? Start tossing the pocket change in a jar man....it might be for sale around the time the change add's up to over the $2K mark?

I think the HB is a lifer...the 44-07 most likely is too.
The Scheff will be around a good long time I am thinking.

The Decade just missed the block, and the DJ landed on it instead.

It also feels really long even though it's standard scale. That will take some getting used to.

Cool man! Yeah...I'm a P bass guy like you, but the Decade has that certain something that makes me love it. The upper horn being shorter definitely puts the nut farther away, but I'm tall with apish length arms so no biggie. Yeah...cranked with both pickups full on or the bridge dimmed a little and tone about half way is my fav. The pick tone is killer!

I too have ape arms, but if I had issues w/ the Decade, I'd put a Dunlop strap-lock button on the upper horn which will extend the strap anchor point by a little (moving it further up the bass, like what you're used too on your P basses). You could also have one of the countersunk (internal) strap-locks put in where the other button is.

Well, my non-Lakkie arrived to-day (posted in the... Sadowsky thread). And now it's past 1 am and I'm still not in bed. The new one and Echo (my amber 55-02) kinda make my Fender P look uh... plain.

Ugh. I gotta go to sleeep...

Congrats...will check it out...hope the long wait was worth it. Sell the fender!

Thanks guys, glad you dig it! It's really a great bass.
Bought it from a guy who collects Lakies, and off course plays them but never outside the home.

I'm not that in to flats, but on this bass they really sing so i'm thinking of maybe leaving them on an just get used to it. I'm guessing it's the original Lakland Flats from 2006, i dont think he ever changed the strings. Perhaps i'll put on some Chromes or something a tad brighter.

I am not a flats guy either...not even on my fretless basses.

Only have flats (chromes) on my acoustic because rounds are too noisey (fret noise etc)

I enjoy the time I have to play and look forward to that "my time" in a hectic life.

Cool! Looking forward to checking em out. Someone on the lakland fb fan page tried em on the same year and model of my bass and reported positive things so I'm pretty psyched.

I had ground wound strings (Ken Smith compression wound) and liked them for a long time. But when they finally died the sound became a little flat for my tastes. Dead round > dead ground IMO...
