Thanks! Like the Black Napkins video, most of the other raw video from this shoot will be edited and compiled with the board audio so there's a hi-fi offering down the road. We're fortunate that our guitarist has such a great setup for live recording... Mackie Onyx board straight to the computer via FireWire... infinite possibilities for mixing/mastering/reamping down the line.

I was a little too close to the camera at first to actually see the bass in the shot well, but then I corrected my positioning. Played my 44-02 Deluxe and it rocked as always...

Hey gang! Thought I'd share this with you all... One of my bands played a gig last night and in addition to doing a multitrack live recording (which we always do at this particular spot), we set up a bunch of cameras to try and compile a music video or two. I set up a 'basscam' shot like I'd done in the past and this was one of the tunes that turned out fairly well in terms of footage. This will probably end up in a larger compilation synced with the full-fidelity recording down the road, but for now you get the jist of it.

VERY nice! I had to print that out....I usually add more vermouth than most....like them better that way...never tried bitters in a martini before....will have to try it.

I drink martinis and manhattens all year round....cannot wait for the manhatten recipe!

Well, when it comes to beverages of non-grape origin, I am a bourbon fan above all BUT, Vodka definitely has its' merits when blended into the perfect martini. Here's my recipe. It takes care and time, like everything that's worth doing.

1st, put the glass in the freezer, or fill it with water and ice to chill it before pouring the magic elixir into it.

3/4 oz Vodka of choice (for me Chopin-made from taters not grain))

3/4 oz Gin of choice (for me Tanqueray)

1/3oz white vermouth (never mind the snobs spouting off about DRY DRY and adding barely a drop of vermouth, nobody wants a straight glass of gin, and IME this is why many are turned off of 'tinis)

dash of bitters (must have this ingredient)

1 tsp olive brine in the glass before pouring (they call it a "dirty" 'tini)

and for cryin' out loud, take the time to make your pickle-ka-bob a thing of beauty. Mine usually has 2 olives, 2 cocktail onions, hot pickled carrots and capers. It's all about the kabob! Make 2 kabobs if you like. You need anough tidbits to keep munchin as you sip.

Now shake the liquid ingredients in a proper shaker with ice and before pouring, let it sit for a full minute to accumulate a tad of ice H20-then pour and drink as you sniff the scents of whatever's on your grill. I only drink martinis when it's hot, but when it is, before dinner, nothing beats 'em.

When fall comes I'll post my Manhattan recipe

The stock strings that came on my Skyline Duck Dunn seem to be stainless steel rounds, does that sound right? Also, am I right that GHS makes Lakland's strings?

You are correct on both counts, sir. Those steels are the stock strings on pretty much every model, with the possible exception of the Hollowbody (not sure there, haven't bought one new).
