Haha thanks guys. Yeah I don't know that I'll be exploring any control cavity. I am completely enamored by the amount of sounds I'm able to get out of this bass. However, I'm also surprised how wide the neck is on this thing. I'm using to 4-string jazz basses. I think the last one I owned was a Geddy, and that has the neck like a guitar.

I will say this... I have never played a bass with action as low as this one. It's pretty insane. I'll take additional photos and post them. :)

I think you supplied the wrong link. That goes to a ticket site. I'm looking on Lakland's site and it states the coil selector switch is not available on the 55-01. Well, I have the 55-02 and it doesn't do anything.

** Edit ** OK I'm dumb. It actually switches from side to side--not up and down like a guitar toggle. :)

I'm not really noticing a difference in the selections, but I'll keep playing around with it. I hope it works like it's supposed to. It sure is a pertty thing.

Its a 3 way toggle switch for coil splitting. Increases your tonal range.

Not my color, who knew, but that is very nice! Congrats on the new arrival.

That means one less bass in the queue so they can finish mine :D Only about three months to go!!!
