And I would love to buy it after you sold it.You know I would love to buy your whole collection, if I could, and I can't.
But I can't do that, either, so it's all for the best that Dan keeps it.TalkBass has been independent since 1998. Add your voice.

Dealing with water seepage in the basement like everyone else in Chicagoland.
My practice amp is buried behind other crap we've moved out of harm's way so I won't be able to hear it amplified until Sunday at practice!
Took a break from flood cleanup to snap this crappy shot. The Dude is in good company:

Bought this Skyline Hollowbody recently. Previous owner had the fingerboard with frets replaced with this fretless ebonol fingerboard, dots on the side. Strung with labella tapewounds which make this bass sound really uprightish.

I bet that baby thumps very nicely.
Well I listed 4 basses for sale...
The buckeye burl was listed first and still has not sold.
Listed two lower priced ( other brand ) basses last night and they sold instantly...
The 3rd ( other brand ) is about to sell it looks like.........
leaving me with that buckeye Burl which listed first.
Either people out there cannot cough the asking price in this rotten Obamaconomy?
Or it is gods way of telling me to KEEP THE DAMN BURL BASS YOU FOOL??????
hahahaha!!![]()
So I think I might just yank the for sale thread on it and keep it......will know better by tomorrow I guess....
On the fence? better PM me on it today before it stays in my Lakland loving hands![]()
It's a JO/44-60? Thought it might be a DJ body.
THAT may very well end up being the case on the Burl?
I will leave it up for grabs in the FS thread here another few days I guess.
If it is meant to be after that, that I keep it? Then so be it![]()
The necks on the 44-07, Scheff and the 44-94 have truly spoiled me completely....
The necks on other basses I always loved, now just do not feel right to me anymore.......

Those "other basses" sure sold quickly!!!!! I was surprised at how fast they went......that Spector was fantastic!
I think the Burly Burl is just supposed to stay....
know how you feel....I used to try "other" basses with some frequency...just to have fun....Lakland RUINED my fun!
I used to love cruising the various music stores (GC, Sam Ash, a few smaller mom/pop shops in the area)...just to play some basses and have fun....now that is boring and futile....I never go out and play basses anymore...unless they have lakies....
LAKLAND RUINED MY FUN ...
but I could NOT be happier!![]()

What a difference this new pick guard makes on my 55-02!
Plus the different lighting (natural) in the 2nd pic really brings out the quilted finish.

Hi,
Mine is a 2012 !!! I can get the 'grindy' tone I was looking for !!!! I am almost tempted to order a US model !
congrats!!! nice bass!
A P is so classic and fits so well in the mix....I am really getting attached to my Lakie Ps.....they are becoming my "go to" bass unless I have a particular sound or ambiance I am after....in many cases the P nails what I need/want.
Played my LOG bass (with Marcus Millers) today in church and it sounded soooo great!
yup! any idea on the pickup? I bet it is the Neopunch by your description.
order a US 44-64 custom? the cool part is that you could get essentially ANY color you wanted!
