He might. He's unpredictable. It definitely won't be black. That's for damn sure.
,......ahhhhhh..WHO are you talking about? NOT black? He only has one non black bass and that us quite gray.....
I personally think he is color blind......he sees in black and white......
BTW....Frankie played my LOG bass the other night....we MAY get him yet!

He has also been down to see Carl twice.....he is coming along slowly.
I pretty much did similar.
Had 8 musicman basses at the time I decided to try out my first US Lakland.
(Stingrays, Reflex, Bongos, Big Als )
Now about 1.25 yrs later?
I have the 4 US Laklands and am down to one Musicman Stingray as of this week.
US Lakland necks ruin other basses for me it seems
MM vs. Lakland .. I guess the “Lakland neck” (the one used on their “44” models) vs. a J or P type neck repeatedly proves itself to be the perfect neck for me. Especially the finish of the US necks. Keep in mind I only play 4-strings. Nut width of the Lakland neck is 1.625”, right in the middle of J and P. Typical J necks, including Lakland J type basses) are 1.5” (as is the MM Sterling). P necks have 1.75”, including Lakland P’s, and also the MM Stingray.
For a long time I thought I’d NEVER find a better fit/comfort bass than the MM Sterling. But I wanted a 2-pickup Sterling, with a “J” single coil and the traditional MM humbucker. While patiently searching for a used one, I decided to try a Lakland, which always had my eye and interest. Back in the 90s before Dan Lakin started Lakland, he was dealing in vintage MM and Fenders, I’d talked to him a couple times about MM’s and when he told me he was working on a modern hybrid taking the best of MM and Fender, I knew I’d have to try one someday.
I discovered my appreciation for the Lakland neck before I knew squat about the specs. That came more recently when I was trying to figure out empirically what the heck it was that made it feel so comfortable.
I still love my 2 Sterlings (down from 3) and when the right deal for the right 2 pickup one comes along, I’ll HAVE to get it...
Interestingly, the MM Sabre has been re-issued and has a 1.625 nut width so I’m dying to try one of those.
I feel the same about the Lakie 5er neck....best 5er I ever played!

Had 2 "dream basses" at the time
..A Ric and a Fender P (1951 anniversary bass)....loved them.....then I played a glaub....even though the necks had "similar specs" the glaub somehow felt better and was easier to play. Also it sounded better.
Needless to say...the Fender went.....and then so did the Ric.....
....sterling with a 1.62? Sounds cool.

I always smile when I'm playing a Lakland.
Color blind, no. Color perfect actually, I used to formulate colors before I became a designer and can spot differences that only a spectrophotometer can verify. That's why I can see the beautiful subtleties of an all black basses.

Crikey, it's been a while since I put decent strings on my Lakie. The previous set was a Fender set, which was absolutely terrible (but it was the only set I could find with a tapered B except for Elixir), before that I had Elixirs which were pretty ok... But now I got Sadowsky's. And they rock. I love that bass.

I agree - one of the best necks ever on the 5'ers! After dumping a bunch of other basses (Alleva Coppolo, Ken Lawrence...) I'm down to my 55-94 and a Sadowsky Standard 5 for fretted basses - and I'm fine with that. Both basses are amazing!
