Anybody use a Sadowsky preamp w the JO5/5560? Soundclips if so? I need an outboard preamp, for mine, not sure which to buy....

Flats: Sadowsky Black Label first choice, EBMM Flats second choice, TIs distant third

Rounds: EBMM Cobals first choice, many others get honorable mention, including DR Marcus Millers, Sadowsky Nickel Rounds, D'addario Pro-Steels


Generally prefer Flats on P-basses, Rounds on Jazzes, wow, what a radical I am.

Don't be sorry... It's all good, that thing was awesome. Just needed a black headstock and a j pickup (definitely making it the best Lakland for Metal).

I blame basspraiser for convincing me to hang on to my JO, now I am a Lakland convert.

And Doug is guilty of converting many a bass player to Laklands, they should give him an honorary title like Lakland Ambassador.

+1 to the Cobalts for rounds, and I use them on P-basses

I'm using a Tone Hammer and it sounds great. I've also used a Sadowsky Pre with a DJ5 and it killed.

Different flavors of good. The TH can give you old school if you want it. The Sadowsky is always clean.
