Wow, I'm with Markus on this one. I've always read that the Quarter Pounder P pickup is bright, this just confirms it for me--cause the neo Hanson P has some pretty aggressive upper mids to my ear, and according to many others.

But if it works for ya, that's all that matters.

Bright really isn't the word. It's more present and has more balls. It's not a scooped sound either as many people describe. I think that it's nice and balanced.

The Neo's are nice and aggressive, don't get me wrong. The QP's are like a more present version of the neo's with more clarity. If I can figure out how to get the files out of Sequel into MP3, I'll post them. The recordings are bass only, no amp, no pre, no effects. It's a dramatic difference.

I play alot of ZZ Top and Robin Trower, so I like a bit more ballsy sound.

It's all subjective and dependent on amp, amp settings, cab, speakers, room , attack, scrotal positioning, mindset, attitude, taste and blood alcohol level.

I like my Wilkin's shell pink refin. It's great.

I'm having a couple of basses painted.

My 5501 I've already decided the color.

He told me 5~6 weeks.

"Warm" is the one I discount the most on TB. No one ever describes an amp or a bass as "cold" or "sterile" unless they don't like it. Some gear that has been described as "warm" by others sounds like an ice pick through my eardrums.

Therefore, "warm" simply means "I like it."

Hi Lakland-ites! I have to say this but I have made a very hard decision to leave the fold. Last year I picked up a gorgeous '98 55-94 fretless and I just can't get along with it. I just can't play a 35" scale fretless. I'm putting it in the classifieds this evening.
