Hi all!

I'm considering pulling a trigger on a 5 string Lakland (skyline) J bass .... haven't heard better, really!

Anyways Im a but confused as to the model differences :

What's the main differences, , and which would you recommend, between the AJ series, the DJ or the JOsborn series?? I've tried a DJ only.

Also, should I ever want to get/make a fretless out if one of these, any suggestions as to which might work out best?

One more thing I would add: IF you do decide to get a fretted one and defret later, I would not get a DJ. The binding makes defretting a real pain--this comes from master Lakland luthier Carl Pedigo.

Awwww come on man! Ep 1 sucked ash (a fine wood for bass bodies btw), but 3 was pretty darn good!

I know i should know the answer to this question already, but who do we favour for refinishes? And how do i contact them?
I'm thinking if i can re-refinish my Decade it'll sell quicker and closer to $800.
Thoughts?

You will have to pay between $250 and $400 for a refin. Pat Wilkins and Marty Bell are the most used IIRC.

You won't get full value out what you put into a refin, that's based on many others experience, not my own. But you might find that YOU like it better, which is not a bad thing.
