Lakland Owners Group #69

Does anyone have this kind of pickguard on their 55-01? I just bought a MIK 55-01 here on TB, and I'd like to put a pickguard on it, but I can't find this style pickguard for Laklands or Skylines anywhere! If anyone has one, I'd pay postage (plus a tip) for a tracing.

On that note - loving this bass! Putting an Audere Classic 3-band in this week, maybe some Fat Stacks in the future - because I can't leave good enough alone..

I refined my knob making process and got a much better end result. This started as Redheart and Maple block and strip that I glued together yesterday. Today I cut them to shape and size, recessed the brass dot sanded and waxed them. I like the that they look with the maple fret board. I have a Padauk/maple/Padauk piece setting up for another set.

Try Jeannie's pick guards....Roger passed away but someone took over....they may have a pattern

Please tell me you have an 80's Hair Band mullet or that you at least wear a similar wig when you play that Flying V!
Not a hair metal guy. My wife loves Husker Du and Bob used to play an Epi V. I went in to bu a Jazz and she saw this. I tried it and liked the tone. It is basically a short-scale T-bird.

I got the Lakland for a more modern sound and to try to learn to slap (I am strictly finger style). I only have 4 basses and each has it's own feel. I have a tendency to play hard and am finding the Lakland sounds better with a more gentle touch. I have round wounds on it would this be a good candidate for flats?

Can it please be something Candy Metallic Orange? That P Bass body at the Log gathering sitting in the rack still has given me a bit of GAS that won't go away. That Coral P Carl is working on for me may eventually go to Wilkins. I don't think I'm strong enough not to!

Sorry.....wish that could be it.....I like coral pink!!!! Is it a four or a five?

4 string! Coral is nice but after I saw a Sadowsky a few years ago in Candy Apple Orange Metallic, it was all over. Then I went to the LOG gathering and saw greatness. Here is the last picture I have of the P bass after I decided to have a neck built for it. Carl said it would be about 3 months, and not to be pushy Carl, but we're pretty close to that :-D

Did you see the matte candy apple orange that Gary had done by Pat? It was hotness!
