Lakland Owners Group #69

Heyyy you guys!! hope all is well with all of you. its been a long time since i posted. But since I'm getting that 55-60 LE in mary kay white thats in the classifieds, I figured it would be a good time to drop in. The guy only lives 20 minutes from me, and I bought the fretless Ray35 from him last week. While i was there I played the 55-60, and its been haunting me all week. So today I offered him my Geddy+ a little dough, and he said lets do it:) I bought the Geddy as a back up for my US JO-CS, and didn't end up using it much as my band is on Hiatus. Plus Some of you know how I love my Laklands :bassist: anyhow, it will be getting the neck sanded and a tung oil finish (I just prefer that over the satin) and a new plate with the volume and tone concentric knobs, its just what I'm used to and prefer. eventually, a matching headstock. At least thats the plan for now….

Welcome back old timer!!!

How goes the barber business?

PS - congrats on a new sweet bass!

Yo Matty, good to see you posting! Congrats on the 55-60, glad to hear you still have that awesome JO-CS.

If I am being totally objective my Skyline is the best Precision I have ever owned... I've had multiple American Stds... Some of them had sentimental value and all that , but if I am just looking at the bass itself I honestly prefer my Lakland. I have a US 44-60, and a Skyline 55-60 en route as well

Hello Guys!

I just wanted to share our the video that we did for an artist. I'm using the stock 5501 on this and from what i hear, it look s like the raw signal from the bass was used. I'm sharing this so you can compare the sound when i have the Nordstrand 3b Installed =)

Be sure to watch in HD so the best sound is played

Once i get the nordstrand installed i'll definitely share the video to compare =)

Here is one example of the 5501 on a mastered recording

And if you know someone that is thinking of selling a big splits please do let me know. I am just able to buy the preamp since adding the bigsplits would amount to a total of 500 usd so if you know someone please let me know as i am going to be in the US up to end of April only :(

Lakland does NOT "just make Fender Copies" like some say...IMHO they are TOTALLY different..similar shapes yes BUT better feel and (for the most part) better quality....and of course the sound!

...and the BEST part is that the entry level smokes most Fenders....while the US line is like a CS without the CS price...

congrats on the excellent trifecta!
