Looks like they really nailed what I was seeking, which was based a fair bit on the Nathan East Yamaha in white. Saw him live with Fourplay and Clapton in the early 90's when he started playing the white 6-string and was always intrigued by it.

I played a Mardi Gras show last night, what is usually a 30 minute drive took an hour and a half. I was not looking forward to this show and the drive did not help. I took my DJ5 and Duck Dunn. It turned out to be a great show, big crowd, band sounded good. Every time I'm not excited about a show, it turns out to be a great time. When look forward to one, it sucks.
It's been talked about at length, but I'm still amazed at the perceived volume difference between a P Bass and a Jazz. The mids on the on the P Bass give such a strong presence that I have to turn down a bit and the mid scoop on the Jazz gives a delicate warmth and gorgeous highs, to my ears anyway, that I can't see not having both in the passive bass stable. The sound from both is fantastic and for some reason I was very conscious of the beautiful differences between them. I love them both because of their inherent differences.

Black is supposed to be a standard color for the 55-64 isn't it? I have never seen one though. @mark beem just went ahead and had one painted. The one in the picture is photo-shopped I think.
I thought so, too! But, like you, I've never seen one. Do I have to order one? Or get one painted?
55-94 arrived on Saturday and it's AWESOME! Still getting used to a bigger fretboard after not playing a 5er since September and my Will Lee Metro is absolutely dinky comparatively speaking. Preamp is solid and I find the tone fairly similar to the Sadowsky; you can get a really nice growl out of this for sure. Low notes are fantastic, and I like the tension on the B, especially relative to my old Warwick Rockbass (different beast, but nonetheless). Between the two guitars, I feel like I have an M3 and an X6 in the garage; both have serious motors, but one is a little more nimble, and one can do some serious lifting when the situation calls for it. I see splitting a lot of time between them. I may switch out the preamp knobs for the bigger Sadowsky type ones. These are a little small for me.
