Talk about tone.....and the playability of this bass is awesome. I think the Lakland will be staying for a while......:D

My DJ5 is still my favorite bass. There is just something fantastic about them.

This particular Home Depot does their "Pro Day" every spring and have a bunch of their vendors come and set up displays and do demos etc. There's usually a good supply of BBQ on hand as well!! One of the managers there heard us a few years ago at a gig and asked us if we'd be interested in providing some music for the event. This was our 4th year doing it. We found out after today there may be some other stores interested in doing the same type of deal.......we'll see.

Can't help you with 1 - 6, but I do own 011, which is LPB finish. Got it from Dan himself!

I have to imagine that is a very good gig. Guys, tools, music, Q; I mean, what could go wrong? Substitute power tools for beer and you've got it down. :bassist:

Probably a stupid question, but the 55-60 and 55-64 do have the same neck pockets and dimensions correct? I only ask because I am contemplating committing the felony of doing a neck swap on a LOG 55-64.

Well.. That all depends....

There are a few variances... If the 5560 was also made in Indonesia ( I KNOW the LOG bass was) you should have better luck.

There also may be a slight issue with screws lining up exactly and you may need a Shim..

I'd say... Give it a shot and see if they switch easily.... All you can lose is an hour of working on it!

What does the 5560 neck look like?

It is a bound/blocked rosewood board. I just like the aesthetic of a maple board on a butterscotch body with the black Guard.

Yeah, I'd love to have a Lakie in my stable again.
That's actually why I bought the 55-60. Cruising for 5ers for my new gig, but knowing nothing about them, I saw the Lakland and knew even if it didn't work for me, it'd still be an excellent quality axe and worth the time and money.
And it taught me that I can't swing with 35", and my gig requires a more modern tone.
Such is life.
