Lakland Owners Group #69

*Off-topic PSA*

I browse on my mobile devices 95% of the time, and I have stickies and announcements turned off, but I just saw a post today from Paul that TB is migrating to a new server and is going to get a new look tomorrow at 1AM. I read through the FAQ on the switch and it looks like it's going to be a huge improvement (initial glitches, bugs, not withstanding).

I'm in too! Loving my USA Duck Dunn. Only P Bass that's ever felt "right" to me. So"right" its my main bass now!

Talk me down from the edge...I'm so sick of the music scene in Houston, that I'm on the verge of selling every piece of gear that I have. I need to just quit playing one nighters for a while and stop looking for a band in this musical desert of a town and keep my Lakies.

Deep breaths, man! Don't do anything rash. If you have a good home practice setup, just play your Lakies along with your favorite music for a while. It'll remind you how good they sound and how much fun playing is.:)

sorry Tex!!! :scowl: :rollno:

you said it...STOP the one nighters....they just frustrate...

take a break as Greg says...don't push it....

take it easy for a while...

Man that looks cheap and low quality. Looks like a $9 strap, not a $35.00 strap befitting a Lakland.

Agreed. They should get John to make these

Are these the same type of straps they used to offer years ago? Carl mentioned that Lakland used to sell woven straps at one time when I was asking about a bass with neck dive a while ago.

The last set of woven straps were actually VERY NICE....we gave many of them away....I never needed a strap then so i never got one....before.

I've been experiencing no lack of band drama lately. Its making me do things not unlike Texan, but for me, its sell a couple basses, buy an upright, and start on a whole new adventure. More details to come.

yahoo!!!! good luck with the upright. I MAY get one some day...but I think I will see if Carl can make me a semi-electric one...

I think I have mentioned this before, but I used to play a bright Purple Jazz bass through an Orange head and Ampeg 8x10 covered in purple crushed velvet in a pretty serious hardcore / metal band. People love stuff like that, unless they are overcompensating pseudo "tough-guys" that think there is only one color... black. JJ, I would rock the super sparkle bass on just about any gig, so I am with you.

....ahh...is that "aimed" anyone???? :eyebrow: :D
