There is a sheet which has serial numbers... But the data ends in 2009.

Scheffs typically have a "JS" suffix...so your serial number does not follow the standard.

It may have had the neck replaced or maybe .... Who knows.

You can email [email protected] and he will be able to tell you all about it.

Thanks, I figured you'd be first to respond with info. I have that Tech Sheet but everything indicates a newer date than 2009. Leo's card was in the case. I doubt it had a neck replacement as everything looks new and virtually unplayed. I just sent him an email with pics.

Hey guys I know there's a Scheff Forum here but it appears fairly quiet (well not too many Scheff's around) so thought I'd post my query here as well. Just received this USA sweetheart in as new condition with all the plastic still stuck on. Total case queen and a hair under 9 lbs. Serial number is 1061. Does that indicate a 2010 manufacture date? Ads in the case are from 2011.

Have you played a 5594 ?? Do you think there any better than the 5514's Im curious if they spend more time on them because their a custom order ??

I’ve not played a 5594. They are better in materials used if you like and appreciate exotic wood bodies with exceptional finishes and quarter sawn Birdseye maple necks. Likewise, the 5594 uses US tuners and bridges versus the licensed hipshot tuners and bridges on the 5514.

Subtle delta in playability with significant delta in fit and finish. I could play my 55-14 or 55-02 forever and be completely happy...but to have the eye candy of an exotic finished 5594 would be another level of inspiration to pick it up and play.

Hi all, I'm thinking about putting a Neopunch PJ set in my Fender, to give it a bit more hot, aggressive tone. I've listened to a handful of sound clips of the neopuch pickups, and I quite like how they sound. My question: How well do the P and J outputs match, and how do they play together overall? Can they be made to match by lowering the P and raising the J? Lots of people seem okay with mismatched outputs on PJ setups, but after having pickups that actually match (on my Yamaha bb424x the J can actually be made to overpower the P if you want), I've gotten more picky.

I had a 55-94 20 years ago that I sent back to Lakland and they converted it to fretless. It's in my profile pic. I now have this 44-60 JO fretless on the way to me, supposed to be here Thursday. I think it's pretty. Beaver Felton said he almost kept it for himself because he enjoyed playing it so much.

I think so too. I am not normally a fan of Mother of Toilet Seat pickguards, but not sure what else is "right" with that gaudy Candy Apple Red. I'll get used to it.
