Least favorite bassist?

...too many good bassists out there to worry about the others...

And you beginners, don't let us discourage you from learning the ropes. There was a time when most of us weren't very good, either (speaking personally :hmm:). Now we're all good enough to pick out bad ones (or at least experienced enough to know)!

Is this thread really necessary? I mean to be honest those bass players who are not our favorites have a position that most of us wish we could be. I don't think they care if we like them or not if we don't like them.

My least favorite would have to be the black bass players trying out gear at my local guitar center. For as much as I hear the words "groove" and "soul"; these guys exhibit none. All they play is some complicated slap pop with alot of percussives in there. No smoothness of groove, kinda like some awkward beginner on speed. Wheres the funk?

People really have a least favorite? There's so much music out there that I don't see how people have the time to concentrate on one particular player...that they don't like. I just don't get it.

Who's concentrating?
It is the sheer ubiquitousness of some celebrities that make them so annoying. I don't actively seek them out, but there they are.
