The most common swear words in Quebec French derive from the church. The above directive does not (it literally means “go “). Quebec swearing is generally inconsistent with swearing in French outside francophone Canada (meaning that what is common in Quebec is unlikely to be common - or even properly understood - outside of Quebec/Canada). I’m an anglophone but, for some reason, often find myself swearing in French.

My whole deal now is that I use a crossover to split frequencies at around 240 hz and send the high side through the DSM Humboldt Simplifier guitar amp sim. Then I can guitar-amp-like-tone-magic stuff to the upper frequencies, and sum the low frequencies back into the signal uncorrupted.

What pedals do you use for splitting and tio recombine?

I have a challenge that most of "tone sweeteners" can't pass through: if I'm getting more into the bridge pickup burpy sound, majority of those just fart out. Since these are more or less based on slight OD etc.

Has anyone found something that works with burpy sound that would make it more immediate and broader without loosing the thickness?

A boost like the Spark Booster or the Xotic Bass RC v2 would do what you are looking for... The Xotic might even be the better choice because you can switch on/off an additional gain stage in the pedal - you get two gains.

Here are some clips I did to try and workout if I needed to keep the EAE Model FeT after getting the Jad Freer Capo. The conclusion I came to is yes.

3 different levels of gain, 1st just the Capo, 2nd has the EAE Longsword engaged and lastly Longsword with boost. For each, the first bar had the FeT off, second bar its on.

It's subtle at low gain but as the gain increases the Model FeT just makes it sound so smooth without sacrificing the clank. Was chatting to John at EAE and he suggested it was mostly the FeTs very well tuned jfet overdrive combined with the emulated Model T powerstage.

Part of my justification for getting the Capo was consolidating some pedals down to simplify my multiple preamps to just the Capo but I've failed

Did you try the Jive after the Cali?
I have mine set up this way and made sure that the Cali does not let any level pass that will send the Jive into drive, just that saturation it does so well. Whenever I switch basses and pick one with a hotter output, I need to set the drive-capable pedals' gain accordingly, but I can leave the Jive alone, since it's basically coupled with the Cali's output.

Recording for a project I've split the signal using a Mark Bass passive Di box for clean lows and Darkglass b7kv2 with cabsim for dirt into BB tubes on an aux bus... sounds pretty good

There you go... When recording I often push my bass signal through the Abbey Road REDD console plugin. There's a saturation control (that doesn't really exist in the real thing) that plumps up a direct bass tone.
