My ’62 Fender Bass VI bought from roommate for $250 while in college (theory/comp major) in ’75… a nosebleed to learn on from scratch and still my main bass after several decades of epic sessions and great memories. The ‘antique’ is my forearm wearing through the sunburst layers over 40+ years. Original pickups, a drop-in Dan Armstrong hotwire for series/parallel turns it into a big fat 3-bucker, a drop-in Staytrem bridge, had the neck re-planed once and a couple of re-frets.

My Hofner HTC 500/1 its my workhorse... great bass. I have a German an HTC and an Ignition... but the HTC is the one to take everywhere.

It's got Delanos in it, btw. Before these, I was rocking Nordstrands, and before that it was the 90's OEM MEC pickups (which I kinda miss, tbh).

NS Design CR5s- fretted and fretless. the fretless gets more play than the fretted, but they are both incredible. thunderous tone and completely rock solid.

Love the basses and the amp/cab. I have a bassman, I use in the practice room, but I've thought about upgrading the speakers for live use. What did you use for this, and are you satisfied with the result?

Thanks. About 40 years ago I had a blonde bassman with 2 2x12 cabs. Didn’t realize what I had and let them get away. I had this and a matching cab made in the early 90's. Can’t remember who made them but they followed every detail of the originals.

Loaded with EV Pros. The best cab I’ve ever used. The lows are tight and focused, the mids punch you in the chest, the highs are crisp and snappy. Powered by the GK1001rbII, it can leave bruises.

What an amazing thread. This *was* my pride and joy.... 1998 American Fender Jazz. sigh... I've sold it...to a friend actually. I bought another new Fender Jazz instead. We made a deal that I get first right of refusal if he ever decides to sell it. Anyway. Here's a picture and of this bad boy in action.

I picked up this 80's MIJ, 32" scale, Pbass from a youth paster in a dark parking lot one night. Haven't gig it yet, but plan to make it my #1. Cleaned it up and upgraded the electronics so far.
