Let's spread some musical misinformation

The Beatles were never an actual band, meaning they couldn't sing or play their instruments. Everything was recorded by a group of studio musicians who were tied up in a very strict "no disclosure" contract and the Beatles lip synced the words and faked playing. Ringo, the most talented of the group, was allowed to help write one of their songs, "Help". He wrote the title, only because he got his hand caught in the high hat.

The inspiration for the electric bass was a strange instrument called the Treble, which had 21 very short strings (located where the frets are on modern day basses), and 4 very long frets (where the strings are currently located). This design was soon abandoned due to the tremendous neck dive (21 tuners) and the fact that the instrument can only be heard by bats and some very small breed dogs. I still keep an original Treble around to sooth my teacup chihuahua when he can't sleep at night!
